Topic: This will be a day long remembered...
It has seen the end of Battlefront and it will soon see the end of WoW*
Thankyou for all your hard work and time First Strike crew. It has been many years in the coming and many chances have missed the mark entirely. In a nutshell, i've been waiting to be immersed in the sights and sounds of Star Wars conflict since i was knee-high. You're beginning to make my dreams come true. I don't see this as an end to the pursuit of Star Wars perfection but you guys have produced the closest thing ever made to what a Star Wars game should have been about.
And i've not even finished downloading it. I just know you've done it right.
I've watched the google vids etc and have scoured the web for missed glimpes of the mod. The space battles look incredible and i can't wait to get on the servers. Trust a team of, clearly, skilled and fast learning "amateurs" to get it right, finally, and show the professionals how it should be done. George, take note. Make this just a battleground in a much wider, persistant online world and you'll have my subscription for life:) This is a quality result, engineered by people with brains and imagination. On a more practical note, maybe LA should use 3rd party engines in their own releases. But new, good engines, that aren't relics of a bygone age (Galactic Battlegrounds/Age of Empires FTL).
I've gotta be honest, i really thought after all the initial false starts, the bf engine not running STs for example, i saw it dying a death. But, obviously, with all the blogs recently i saw it coming together at last and was thrilled. I'm finally gonna get to fly my fave ships! JTL never did it for me
97%. WOOT!
I've been waiting for you, First Strike. We meet again, at last. The
download is now complete.
Thank the Maker
Thank the testers
But most of all thanks FS Devs!
