Topic: Custom Resolution Question

First let me say, Great work on the mod.  Very fun, very nice game play, great models and sound.  Can't wait for future maps and such.

Anyway, on to the question at hand.

I don't play much 2142 so I am not as familiar with it as BF2.   When I install mods for BF2, I can add the following to the desktop short cut and it will give me my custom desktop resolution I need.

+menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1200 +modPath mods/FirstStrike +ignoreAsserts 1

However, when I do this with First Strike, the game does start in the resolution but I have to go to community and select the First Strike mod from the list.  When I do so it reverts to a lower resolution and my resolution is not in the menu so I get stuck with a lower res.


Nooby question I know, but I would guess the answer is simple and I am just missing it.

I don't know if it would matter but you can try it this way instead.
copy this and paste it exactly

"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142Launcher.exe" +modPath mods/FirstStrike +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1200


This is what I use (except different resolution) and it works great. Hope that helps.

a lot of the devs are running at a costum res. woodrow does for sure (jsut look at his crappy screenshots))
i think its the +ignoreAsserts 1. I cant find it on the list i got with working things to add to a shortcut

Thanks guys. 

I tried the line you posted rybot, but it would not work.  I changed it from BF2142Launcher.exe to BF2142.exe and it worked great!

I'm dredging this up from the deep.

I tried using the aforementioned path by Vader here but when I double-click the modified icon it just starts the DVD spinning and never launches.  I need to know how to get it to do a 1440x900 resolution.  Can someone tell me how?

ah..you are I assume using the auto patcher launcher?

if so then click file, the preferences, in the arguments window, type +szx1440 +szy900

or it may be +widescreen1

Been a while for me and I dont play widescreen wink
