Topic: After 9 Hours! and I can't install!

I waited nine hours downloading First Strike, so i'm sure you understand i'm pretty desperate by now, but what happens when I try to install? It says"
         "The Installer you are using is corrupt or incomplete.
           This could be the result of a damaged disk, a failed download or a virus.

           You may want to contact the author of this installer to obtain a new copy.

          It may be impossible to skip this check usin the /NRC command line switch
           (Not recommended)."

Well considering I have waited NINE HOURS for this install to download, I don't give a hoot whether it is recommended or not, so how do I do this NRC thing it describes? Are there any other suggestions besides waiting another NINE HOURS for it to download again?!

i dont think it will take 9 hours from a server close to where you live.
anyway if you dont have version 1.25 of bf 2142 that might be the problem i dont really know

Download the torrent. It downloaded at 200+kb/s for me.

We are sorry for your problems blaz3r1121. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do to help you with a corrupt download, except ask that you try downloading it again. We all had to download the mod, even us developers, so we know your pain. I'm sure by now there are some faster mirror for you to download from. Good luck.

Did you try using a Torrent to get the file ?

We had that one on the German forums, rename the file to some like firststrike.exe and try it. You might be using FAT32 and therefore limited by the namelength. If that doesn't, just download the torrent, that will always yield you a file that passes its own md5.

Ok then, thank you all for your suggestions. renaming it did not help unfortunately XD so I will just go with your suggestions and download via torrent, thank you all anywa, can't wait to play.
