I know what you mean. I hae a good computer with 2 g's of ram. I have yet to update my video card, but thats besides the fact. Usually on tatooine All of the sudden it will say, there is a problem with your connection. This will flicker on and off and then I see people typing "OMG Server Lag!!!"
I wish this could be fixed!

I've been getting a bit of lag in space on the large servers (50 to 64 player)
I tend to think it's the dynamic lights on the hundreds of lasers on your screen at any given time that may be the culprit. But yet again, I'm no expert on matters of this sort. tongue

Woody has the idea that it's a combination of dynamic lighting from the blaster bolts as well as the explosion effect the bolts have when they hit their target. Think about how much you yourself fire. Then multiply that by the amount of people on the server. It starts to add up. This was just one of those things we couldn't really test with only 20 or so people.

no, the thing is, I cant even spawn. Well, I can, but I get 1/2 of a frame per minute! I mean, it gets to the spawn screen and...goes-...like-...thi-...s-...an-...d-....I-....get-...rea-...ll-...y-....pis-...se-...d-...I mean, it is AWFUL! Its not my bolts or anything, its the game in general. Its not only space, but ground as well

I think as well tht a lot of people have been joining and not taking thier pings into consideration,ive seen people playing with 4/500 plus ping...this is a major factor in the lag itd be no different in vanilla.I think this is partly responsible for ctd's as well as ive been on servers with a lot of people and instantly crashed,yet when i get on a server with 4/5 people it plays perfect for ages without crashing.Please be a little considerate and play on servers with a low ping if you can it'll help yourself and others to enjoy the game better
