Topic: Cockpits ?

Hello all smile

First, thanks for that awesome mod, it's great, realistic and immersive, and it's a real pleasure to play in the Star Wars universe.

I have a question concerning future releases: will it be possible to include a full bridge on capital ships, as it was in galactic conquest ? I think it could be more immersive than a simple crosshair in the middle of the screen. I downloaded it about a week before the release of first strike, and it was very impressive to walk inside the carrack cruiser, from the bridge to the TIE fighters hangar, or to evacuate the ship in the escape pod.

Again, thank you very much for First Strike, I think that many, many, many Star Wars fans waited a REAL Star Wars game for long times.

Keep in mind that this dont work with full 360 ships... No artificial gravitation is simulated in the BF engine so you'd be spinning around quite a bit wink

That said, you will most likely see considerably more detailed base ships in the future, either static or Titan style (but carrack? Bah! ISD!!!).

there still looking into way to make it possible, but it doesnt look good was i heard, so dont get you hopes up.
the ship are doing the full 360, so you get the GC lambda effect when it does a flip.
also the speeds the ships are going on, you would be pressed against the back wall.
thats the reason the titans in 2142 move as slow as they do.

OK, I see where is the problem concerning "walkable" capital ships. But I still hope to see, one day, a detailed bridge, and why not, if it will be possible to make a "flyable" ISD, the captain station where I would be able to see the deep space through the triangle shaped windows :-p

and when you thing of it the ISD is jsut to big to make the bridge/command center and still keep the hangar. the distance along and you having to walk all the way there

Thanks for stopping by and voicing your thoughts flac13, we have put thought into capital ship interiors (the bridge only option as well as the full interior option), and will be working on making them a reality for future releases.  However, due to engine limitations, the extent to which you see them in-game is yet to be determined.  We will be doing testing, and hope to deliver the best solution we can come up with.  For now...enjoy playing the current release, and know that we are constantly working to improve upon what we have already done..

I agree that the distance between the bridge is very far from the hangar , but would it be possible to make 2 spawn points in the ISD: one for the hanger and the second would be a "spaceship spawn point" juste like for the other capital ships. It's an idea I had today, but I don't know if it's makeable (Sorry if my english is bad sometimes, I'm a frog-eater frenchy wink )
