Topic: Key mapping

Is it possible to map the boost for xwings and such to a joystick? Ive looked through the key mapping and the only reference to the left shift boost is on land vehicles but when I map it to the joystick it still stays mapped to the left-shift key.

Re: Key mapping

I always double-tap forward. I don't know how this will work with a joystick, but you can try it. Sorry but that's all I have for suggestions right now. The BF series is known for their sketchy key mapping. hmm

Re: Key mapping

this doesnt seem to be possible. some devs where using a joystick buttom to key program.
meaning you do i the other way round. binding the shift key to one of the bottums of your joystick.
no idea where they got it. try google-ing for it

Re: Key mapping

Theres a program called "joy-to-key" which u can use to map buttons on the joy to for example the shift key on your keyboard. That might work

Re: Key mapping

Im having a similar problem in that im left handed and i change most games standard keysets around. The key i have remaped to boost also doesnt work for me in FS but works fine in vanilla 2142.I have to do the double tap thing which im not really used to doing. If you could look into it at some point that'd be cool,no biggie though as there are bigger issues at hand.
