they where in battlefront... one more reason not to make them for me.
but seeing as we want hoth to be as close to perfect (hmm wonder why? tongue) its still under development, but not by me, so i cant say.
cept we do have atst's lol

ill tell you the balance:                   

ATAT-->grounds troops
grounds troops-->ATST
ATST-->ground troops
snowspeeder-->ATAT
snowspeeder-->ATST
snowspeeder-->ground troops


as you can see the speeders actually rule the battlefield if they can use the tow cable...
what we need is some anti-air weapons because you really need some skill hitting these fast things.
seriously...i have star wars battlefront and the snowspeeders can kill everything on their path!
even the game: empire at war agrees tongue you need anti-air weaponry to kill the speeders...however turbolasers also do their job against them...but since the battle on hoth wasnt alliance-->empire we wont expect these on the battlefield there.in the movie the rebels lost because they found out that they had 2 use the tow cable too late and the ATAT's had no trouble aiming for the speeders.ingame the tables will be turned...i mean every1 saw the movie right?

the EMPIRE needs weapons....

I think the thing thta stopped the AT-AT the most in GC was the trenches outside echo base, the AT-AT's always sorta 'fell' in the trenches and got stuck giving the rebels the oppurtunity too blow the thing too bits with rockets, I think that was a good thing tho, think the AT-AT oughta make it too about the trenches before it gets destroyed, its too powerfull too advance any further, and they always done a ton of kills and made the pilot very high up in the score board by the time it was destroyed.

As for the speeders, thats simple, include a couple of ties in the map, ok they wernt in the film but there was no reason for them not too be, cant see  why the imps didnt lauch ties from the ISD's too deal with the speeders?! Just wanted an excuse too use theyre walkers me thinks!

Think the imp starting point shuld be a landing site, with AT-AT barges and AT-ST containers landed and open for the AT-AT's too spawn in, also a couple of imp shuttles would look neat as static spawns for the infantry, the tie's could spawn either side of the shuttles, makes em look like they were escorts then ;O)

I'll guess that tow cables will be rather impossible to script...

Maybe a gun with loads of damage and limited range that only damages ATATs? You'd have to keep a clear shot for the gunner while staying close enough, simulating the tow cables.
