Hmm that is strange, check the rest of this section maybe there is some help.  Is your AV messing it up in any way? I know some people had problems with that before.

Re: 1 frame Per 4 or 5 Seconds

always compare to regular 2142 with the same settings.

what are your settings and what framerate do you get in regular 2142 with those?

Re: 1 frame Per 4 or 5 Seconds

It's not that, per 4-5 settings would have to mean that he would have to have a REALLY old machine which I'm sure he doesn't. Sounds more like a memory leak, or like you have to swap. Use Process Explorer and monitor hard disk activity when you play.

Re: 1 frame Per 4 or 5 Seconds

i got it running fine, but it started it again, i'm running the same settings as bf2142 which is medium and it runs fine on that, as for mem leak, nope i still have about a gig left,

as for specs,
fx55, 2gb ram, twin 150gb sata, 6800gt card are the basics, i think it a graphics lag as the sound runs ok ish when i start to lag, it also happens about 1 or 2 mins in to joining a map.

Re: 1 frame Per 4 or 5 Seconds

I'm getting the same problem execpt at 15 fps whereas in BF2142 i run at 100+ with everyhing set to high and AA turned on.  I'm running a QX6850, 2 x EVGA Superclocked 8800GTXs(SLI), 4GB Corsair Twinx 8500(4x1Gb DIMMS), OS is on a single SATA II drive, game is on a pair of SATA II drives in a RAID 0 strip.  I should be blowing the doors off FPS but something is seriously amiss.  I've tried turning cores off, tuning the vid settings down(resulted in approx 4 FPS increase), etc.  I'm about to give up.   OS is XP32.  Haven't tried it under VISTA 32 or 64 yet, have both of em loaded on different drives but have some crashing probs with BF2142 and BF2 so i figure I'll stay gaming in XP32 until SP1 comes out.

update.  The issue only appears with ground based maps.  I peg at 100 FPS on all space based maps.  Something is amiss here and I can't believe we are the only ones experiencing this.
