Topic: Game mode sudgestion for Space

It all started when I was thinking about Xwing vs Tiefighter. After thinking of some of the situations they give you, I remembered the one where you have to take down a Star Destroyer.

So, I thought, hell, why not bring this up on the FS forums! My sudgestion, a space map where the Imps have to defend their Impstar, and the Rebs have to take it out. Sort of like a Titan mode in space, without the boarding part. But then again, being able to board the Impstar during an epic space fight wouldnt be a bad idea either!

That sounds really cool, both with and without the boarding parts.
It would bring a real order and obvious objectives to the space battles

In GC, and everyone has to remember this, there was a Boarding action map on a static Dagger, and it was awesome fun... minus the lag...

But killing a ISD would be nice, though granting the ISD any significant movement would be hell!

There could be three options though in that scenario;

A) Kill the shield domes, then kill the bridge (Now I know people will say, those aren't shield domes they are sensor bulbs!!! I agree, but its a gameplay device)

B) pound the hull into oblivion.... (woo sounds like soooo much fun lets just sit in my B-Wing and plug away at that ISD anywhere)

C) an epic Space battle over Endor... Home One, other rebel ships etc... versus two ISD's and some support craft... [I think this is in the works though cause I heard Home One is planned in a next release)

Maybe a game mode that actually does what battlefront 2 said it was going to do, you can wipe out thei shields then blow the hell out of the ship, or board the ship and blow it up from the inside. But actually go further than battlefront went, instead of having one room with three others leading off, thuis making it stupidly easy to destroy such a huge ship. Actually have a large amount of a Star Destroyer mapped out, that you can travel through and eventually get to the engines or the bridge, or whatever, and start blowing the ship up from the inside.

I proposed a system in which every cap ship, or at least the stationary ones, had 'shield zones' that you could penetrate with weapons, and which would eventually recharge. It'd be done by adding invisible 'armour plating' over the hull of the ship, each covering a section of the vessel and each respawning a while after destruction, to simulate the shield recharging.

The ship itself, however, would have a single hull, so that all damage, no matter where, was significant as it reduced the overall hit point count. However, the enemy would have to coordinate their attacks so that attacks were focused on one section of the shield, in order to easier wear it down and break through it.

And yes, a boarding action map where you are to capture a station or cap ship or perhaps do something like blow up supplies or munitions stored, or a ship in 'dry dock' inside, would be great. ISD Judicator for GC was awesome.

Well, in Titan mode, theres a seperate map for the inside of the Titan, so I suppose they could use something like the mini Titan map for the inside of the Star Destroyer. And actually have gunner positions along the corridors.

I would think that the ISD would have to be stationary for this kind of a map. It would run better while trying to board, and any lag issue would be non-existant (or mostly at least).

I dont see much point in it moving anyway. what its it going to do. What would be the imps objective. Should the entire map be inside the isd or will you have to fly to the isd.
