Topic: Some [more] Map ideas

1] ~20 Km Death Star run... I was thinking if maps are infact 8x8x20 why use the 8 km distances when you can go up and down and have more?

Obvious flaw(s): Mini Map would be shot to hell. A huge Ficking area.. excessive time to travel the trench only to be killed once getting there...

2] A space battle that doesn't revolve around killing all of X faction's ships or (escaping). I was originally thinking of something like Forgotten Hope's Navy Maps where you have ships constantly respawning after they die and battles wagging over Flags... (yes Flags!)

Imagine a Space Station, imobolized ship, Golan III, Asteriod Base, Wtf ever you want, that is static with corridors, turrets, hangars, bridge, elevators, etc. defending against an onslaught of Imperial or Rebel ships intent on boarding?

Or better yet have it unoccupied and make there be a mad rush for said base in the first half with it falling constantly out of Faction A's Hand into Faction B's Hand... Perfect blend of Troopers with Space battles there! And you solve the want to have fully explorable space craft with the static station... (I'll offer to help making said station, but I'm unskilled so you'd have to let me learn)

Maybe add destructable areas in the station that can be destroyed from space or internally to make it seem like this thing you're on can end up being destroyed and that you would be lost in space....

Throw in some Star Wars music and you have yourself an epic even Homer would envy ^_^

3] Well this is hased together because everyone loves the number three (I mean the Trinity, Triologies... =O ) maybe incorperate some 'Science complex' fighting. Like a building or three that are interconnected through bridges or tunnels with 10 or so levels that need to be fought for? Imagine blaster shots going everywhich way in a claustraphobic way? I'm getting my insperation from a relatively decent game called "Breakdown" for the old Xbox, its first level just stuck with me... and it would be cool to look to the building across from you and see firefights going on that you have no role in.

Re: Some [more] Map ideas

1. In the works. Hopefully with deflection towers to destroy, lots of automated turbo lasers, dogfighting, trench run... the works.

2. I really like your idea about the neutral space station. That's a new one. Reminded me instantly about this TIE Fighter mission in which you were sent to a station that had been evacuated for unknown reasons. You were deployed with your TIE Fighter and had to escort a boarding party, I think, which had to be defended from the force that entered the area shortly after the Imperials to attack the station. Something like that would be interesting in FS, too, fighting over an abandoned station.

Re: Some [more] Map ideas

sounds amazing...how bout the station is occupied by Faction A and they have to fend of Faction B with turrets, turbolasers, towers, and Ground-to-Air missles. Maybe have, at the most, 5 fighters with maybe the blockade runner.
