This is NOT Project Reality!
This is FIRST STRIKE!!!!!
nothing in FS is real tongue

Even star wars characters care about their lives.

You're meant to hang on your life, you're meant to help teammates in need. They're never in need when they respawn again within seconds. I'm looking for those "there's a guy on my tail, get him off me" parts that FS is lacking due to the lack of teamwork and the deliberate crashing into capital ships, lengthening the respawn time would make people ask for help, make them communicate and make people join squads and actually play with the squad.

If SW was like it is in FS, the rebels in the Battle of Yavin would've crashed their fighters straight into the exhaust port, hoping that the burning fuel on the fighter's remains would trigger the chain reaction.

Re: Respawn times...

We want to create impressive firefights, people dying left and right, blasters zooming all over the place. PR style thats not achieved as everyone would move crouched from cover to cover, fire few shots and repeat the same pattern all over. If I want realism and want extreme excitement, I play PR. If I want to play Star Wars, I play FS.

EDIT: As it is in PR, it works perfectly, it works as it should. Its slow gameplay is suited for it and it is just amazing how you can have the feeling of just sticking to one location and look at one direction only, instead of going rambo somewhere far, because you dont want to die.

In FS, it would rather silly to have the fearless rebels hide in bushes because they are scared of the walker. Or Imperials just sitting tight at the first street of Mos Espa, without moving more than 10 meters per minute. Grrrh, talk about one dull Star Wars experience.

1. There weren't much deaths in Star Wars movies, the deaths were often rather detailed. Not in the new trilogy with the enormous armies. But this is the galactic civil war anyway.
2. Ever heard of suppressive fire? It's why people keep shooting in real life and it's also why people keep shooting in the movies. It's cinematic and realistic.
3. The reason why I mentioned PR was because they long respawn times, no other reason.
4. I was primarily talking about space battles, the rebels don't have infinite fighters you know. According to FS they have more B-wings than the imps have TIEs interceptors.
5. You tried to enfoce squad play, but it isn't working. Reason: People can play really suicidal without penalties.

The rebels DID hide from the ATSTs, fearless != suicidal. In FS you're playing a random grunt anyway, you're not meant to go rambo there either.
If you'd only increase the spawn time you've still got loads of HP and you can still get revived with full health. See? It enforces squad play, if you still have the same amounts of HP that you do now combat won't be as slow as in PR.

Re: Respawn times...

Yup... I agree on that 100% It's perfect the way it is. Whatever you do don't change accuracy or the power of blasters. They are exactly right. My best experience so far has been chasing rebels on Endor with AT-ST. It looked and felt like I had been IN Ep VI. Which reminds me... Thank you FS team for making that fantasy come "true" smile

You enjoy no cooperation and suicide bombing huh?
FS was built around squad gameplay but nobody is doing teamwork. That means there's a flaw in their system. A second obvious flaw is the suicidal way everyone plays. As you know 1+1=2, they're not supporting each other because you respawn within seconds with full HP and ammo. lengthen the respawn time and suddenly people will be handing ammo around and healing each other like intended.
