Topic: Rebel Fighters vs CapShips

As the topic name says, this thread shall focus on the rebel fighters and their anti-capship-weapons (obviously its about the battle at taloraan map!)

rebels got x-,b- and y-wings with several torpedoes each. x-wings can fire them extremely fast needing just one second of aiming there...

imps got tie bombers with 12 torps each, those need longer to fire...

so, you see my point? rebel fighters can own capital ships (especially the bulk freighter) without any major support from another capital ship whilst the imperial bombers are most likely gonna end up as cannon food due to the masses of x- and a-wings also there are like 3 tie bombers compared to several more rebel fighters?

honestly i never saw imps win against a semi coordinated rebel team...

Re: Rebel Fighters vs CapShips

Well, the way I see it is, the rebels are more multi-purpose, whereas the Empire are more specialized.

X-Wing: Fighter/'Secondary Bomber'
Y-Wing: Bomber/Fighter
B-Wing: Fighter/'Secondary Bomber'
A-Wing: Specialized Fighter

TIE Fighter: Fighter
TIE Intecepter: Specialized Fighter
TIE Bomber: Bomber

BUT, here's where the empire makes up for that...They are made up of primarily more Capital Ships. And would have at least double the amount of startfighters.

Of course, If they wanted to make this game really realistic, and I don't know if this is servers, the game, or whatever, and if its even possible, but a 2:1 ratio for the number of players on each team, so the empire gets more people then the rebels.

Well, if we really wanted to be annoying about it, I believe I read the Imperial Navy standards state that there must be a minimum of 3:1 advantage over enemy numbers to engage in a battle.

I'm more of a fan of balanced gameplay, myself.
