Topic: Booster or not?

I kept asking people whether the Y-Wing has a booster or not but didn't get a good answer and the manual doesn't give it away either. I've tried to search the posts but nothing about the boosters. No standard key seems to work. If it doesn't have a booster then what is the green bar that showed up frequently on the bottom of the screen when I was a gunner?

Re: Booster or not?

Yes it does. I usually double-tap forward to boost.

Re: Booster or not?

I didn't try to boost in the Y-wings last night but I found it on my left shift key for the A-Wing and X-wings. I tried to out run a tie on my 6 using it but guess they are faster than I thought cause he still got me once I ran out of boost. Still it works great usually and really nice to use on the A-wings ( my favorite fighter so far cause I can actually stick to those manueverable Tie's )

Re: Booster or not?

Speaking of boost, has anybody figured out how to map it to their joystick or gamepad? It the controls for aircraft, there is no boost. So basically if I want to boost, I have to hit shift on my keyboard. I tried mapping sprint from ground controls, and boost from the ground vehicle controls to my controller, but I still couldn't get it to work.

Re: Booster or not?

Yes siree, the Y-wing DOES have a boost. Yay! wink "Left shift" is the default key for boosting but double tapping the throttle key does the same thing (damn you Factor 5 for not doing this).

Don't try to outrun T.I.E.s in any rebel craft other than the A-wing, though (save for the T.I.E. Bomber). You'll get nailed. lol wink

Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.

Under the aircraft tab there's a command called afterburner. Afterburner equals boost smile However I tried mapping my Logitech Cordless Freedom 2.4 joy to joy button #9 but it didnt work. My tip if the maaping dont work is to google for xpadder. Awesome program for mapping keyboard keys to the joys buttons. Good luck!
