Topic: First Strike 1.1 movie I made

Got my 8800GTS and I always wanted to make a short FRAPS-filmed music video with this tune and some sort of Imperial footage: now was my chance!

Filmed over a couple days, just average play. A little squad-work in there, healing up guys that got hit by a sniper and such. Not meant to be a 'frag video' - encompasses a lot of different stuff! Bit of lag here and there - I had to cut the frame rate from 60fps to 30fps as while it ran fine before it began lagging enormously in space and firefights, and also because I was saving to my hard drive with not enough space (had to switch to my bigger one halfway through).

Also, if you can't tell, I like playing Medic with the longblaster wink

Re: First Strike 1.1 movie I made

Funky.

Do the same thing but turn off your HUD and film.  You'll need to play in a squad and tell them your the "camera guy" cause you will need help without your hud being up.  It makes for a much better looking video without all the "junk" on the screen.

If your not familiar with turning the hud on and off here is how:
(to film without HUD showing:  hit ~ key and type in renderer.drawhud 0)  Replace the 0 with 1 to turn it back on.

This film is perfect for showing actual gameplay, great job.

Re: First Strike 1.1 movie I made

The HUD was intentional, I really wanted to show off gameplay more than cinematic stuff. I had accidentally turned off the HUD in quite a few shots but did not want to use them as they weren't representative of gameplay. I might try to do a more cinematic thing later, but for now I like this smile
