If you're serious about learning how to mod the BF series, I would suggest doing some research over at the BFeditor forums, they have a lot of resources for you such as tutorials and such.  Most of the basic skills required to mod the BF series (modeling, texturing, programming) may be taught at some technical colleges, but I've never heard of any official schools that offer programs on modding.  All of the devs have had to learn the long hard way, gaining experience by trial and error.  There aren't really any shortcuts I'm afraid.

Ah i founld the tutorial i needed there thanks red & dawdler for your advice. It said in the tutorial that i need photo shop LUCKily my sister has photo shop on her computer so i may be able to use that hopefully photo shop will alow me to put it on to my computer too but who knows with theses Blassumus creations smile. is there a lot of programing involved in making a working BF2 map?.

Re: New Maps!

Like most, I'd like to see a ground Hoth Map, wouldn't mind seeing a Geonosis, or a Streets of Coruscant map.

There's a ton of good ideas here. My most wanted maps are ...

Ground Maps
- Hoth
- Coresant
- "Unknown name" The planet from Episode III where the female Jedi was killed after Order 66
- Kashyyk

that "unknown name" planet is called felucia tongue

Thanks! I love the vegitation on that planet ... looks like a swamp/ jungle but really Star Wars style. AT-ST's and troops in cammo would be cool there, yeah?

Re: New Maps!

How about these for maps then:

Nelvaan:

This planet would be perfict for a crashed corgo recovery mission for the Alliance with the Empire on the attack. It sates in it's entry the Bothan corgo ships like to fill up on the Ice run off from this planet. We also would have a vary cool looking map with it's sweet rock faces and clifs due to it's low gravity.

Muunilist:

This one is perfict for an Expanded Universe map as it states in it's entry that it became a heavly defended base for the Empire after the Battle of Endor.

Cloud City:

Because we all know and love this palce it would be perfict! I mean think about it. We could have both air combat and ground combat on one map! Plus it is way cooler than the Death Star.

Long live the Empire!

Cloud city is a brilliant idea! Fighting it out in the city's coridors and various rooms would be awesome. Could be like fighting on a Titan times 10!

And flying those unique craft that intercepted the Milennium Falcon upon arival ... cool!

Re: New Maps!

Keep them ideas coming.  Some great maps could be made on these suggestions.  smile

Re: New Maps!

A Coruscant space map would be cool, from the opening battle of Episode III. Battle of Naboo would be alright, whether it be in Theed or on the plains of the battle between the Droids and Gungans
