As I brough up during testing, the "broken" hit detection do bring a big pro: getting and staying on the tail of enemies is vital. I've had truly epic fighter chases that feel straight out a movie due to this.

Then again it can be annoying as hell too, lol.

My main rule is don't fire early, hand behind your target and wait for them to straighten out. At that point take full advantage and open fire. Make sure you don't miss your first few shots as its very hard to then correct yourself.

A normal player reaction time is about 2-3 seconds. So make sure you've done the damage in that initial window and as soon as you've fired your bursts TURN. I've seen many players take out an enemy fighter/bomber only for me to come up behind them and take them out themselves as they haven't turned after the kill.

While I really don't like it, it was said that the engine itself was the cause so I'm not gonna blame anyone or clamor for change, as that's not possible.

It's does bring about positive gameplay changes, so it's not all bad.

A normal player's reaction time lies between 0.2-0.3 seconds you wanted to say, right?
The reaction time of your ship, well, that's another story.

Don't forget that it is as hard to be hit as it is to hit others wink and I completely agree with the general sentiment that the current hit detection issues actually IMPROVES the gameplay!

You tend to last longer = less respawns (wasted time)

The battles become extremely intense big_smile with lasers flying everywhere

and of course you end up having those epic chases where you chase and shoot an enemy for ages (and then 9 times out of 10 someone comes along and steals your kill! lol)
