Re: Homing proton torpedoes!

That was a force-powered proton torpedo smile

If anything needs a suite of homing missiles, it's the TIE Bomber. I mean, the Y-wing gets a gunner, the B-wing just kicks pie, and the TIE bomber gets a whole bunch of weapons but skank amounts of armor to ensure their delivery. I say give them like 12 conc missiles that lock on to fighters. Also, make their proton torpedoes (not bombs) lock on to capital ships (save for Gallofree transports). I mean, lore-speaking, TIE Bombers had highly specialized targeting systems that allowed them to pinpoint strikes on capital ships. Might as well ensure an impact if close enough.

Re: Homing proton torpedoes!

Lance, if the homing was added for the torps it would most likely ONLY be effective if you were RIGHT behind your enemy or if you were targeting a capitol ship. So then fighters don't have to go straight towards a Capitol ships main fire power to fire their payloads. They could come in at an angle and allow them to lock on and guide themselves in.

Re: Homing proton torpedoes!

As far as the Lazy Homing Protons from the X-Wing games, in other words they slowly hone in on cap ships and completely suck vs fighters, than YES YES yES for sure.

Re: Homing proton torpedoes!

i mean, obviously if you did a DEATH star mission, you'd need homing torpedoes, or the force tongue

Ahh okay ^_^ see I was assuming since they were able to do a complete 90 degree turn in Ep. IV they would be damn near impossible to avoid...

If you guys do add it in could you give some TIE's hard-points? ^_^;; it'd only be fair.

The torps were pre-programmed. Thats why they had to be launched at a set distance.
