had tis one once aswell you need to open your pb log file (pbcl.log) in "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\pb" or where ever you installed 2142.
use the exact line where is said GUID ban and search google.
there should be a search result for bf2 (works with 2142 aswell) on how to fix if by adding 4 or so letter infront of your cd in your register

you can do it the easy was. but i never trusted the easy solutions, so i followed the manual fix in the quate on that page's first post

Well the thing is, I was getting this error for regular 2142. Tried FS and it does the same thing though. It's not a FS issue that's for sure. Grrrr. Makes me mad that after 9 days PB support still hasn't responded to my help request after asking for my log data...

When you uninstalled Battlefield 2142, did you make sure that the folders were actually gone? I've seen uninstallers leave junk and settings-files behind before, I wouldn't assume EA is an exception. tongue

There's 2 folders to look for... the program folder (usually "C:\Program Files\Electronics Arts\Battlefield 2142") and the user folder (usually "My Documents\Battlefield 2142").

I would uninstall battlefield > make sure it's actually gone > reinstall it > install the v1.25 patch > manually update PunkBuster > and then test the game.

I keep getting kicked with corrupt or mismatched file 8BB4, I have updated pb manually, with the .exe and also reinstalled BF2142 updated that to 1.25 and nothing helps at all. Any help would be truly appreciated.

are u using pbweb.exe or pbsetup.exe?
from what i heard pbweb.exe cant fix it, but pbsetup.exe should.
this problem can also be caused by the servers not having updated to the latest version of pb.
do you have the problem on all servers? including vanilla servers?
