i'm happy someone else realised the slow ships too smile

its the same big problem like in all x-wing games ever. the starfighters are damn slow. always i fly over a capital ship and i realise the "speed", i want to exit the ship to push

also i don't like the boost. there has never been a boost in the x-wing games. and it was good like this.
i would prefer if the rebel fighters would be a bit faster and wouldn't have the boost. x-wings should be as fast as tie fighters, but not that agile.

there was boosters in the x-wing games let me list them for you

a) sacrifcing shield/ammo supplies in the x-wing vs tie fighter games
b) in both rogue squadron and x-wing vs tie fighter games . closing the s-foils increased speed

but seeing as doing either of those are impossible in the bf2142 engine we'l have to stick with our booster buttons

When you hit "S", your S-foils close on the X-wing. Just a thing..

Anyways.

The battles are already hard enough to process through your mind. I've battled in my x-wing and tie-fighters around capital ships that had moved close to each other.
Running under a Nebulon B, then shifting up to avoid a gallofree at the speeds they go is pretty tough considering you have to bring in that your ship may be large and you have to clear the ship. And in an a-wing and interceptor, that just gets harder.

Even worse is dogfighting around these. Coming out of one of the 'spirals' with an enemy fighter and facing a Nebulon B is scary, barely twisting your ship to get past the foward section, then having to cut underneath it to avoid the larger section because going out into open space means getting shot at easily is amazingly complicated and often spells death for some.

I believe the speed is fine.

I think dog fighting has improved a lot. But it is the same setup I think.
