Re: Officer with probe droid

we need a recon/bounty hunter class, one with probe droids and a jetpack or something

Re: Officer with probe droid

i was wondering if there were any droids in star wars the you could remote control but would shoot?  Mini probe droids if you will, you could use it to spy on the enemy insteed of having one just following you around, like the ones darth maul has tongue

what more could he carry?

I would have to say why does the officer have a mounted gun in the first place let alone ammo crate, or bacta? I’ve never seen an officer carry around heavy equipment like that. They don’t serve as semi-medic, semi-supply, and semi-heavy weapons in real combat unless that is their specific job and then they only do one. The team leader/officer isn’t the guy you want deploying and operating a heavy emplaced gun standing up for all the world to take pot shots at.

The (once deployed irretrievable mounted gun) should be given to heavy weapons or support. Give a decent weapon “small carbine” maybe to the officer with the smoke grenades and take away the ammo crate and bacta, because there are already medic and supply units.

Officers should have more logistic abilities related to squad support (like the radar and the spawn beacon they already have) without stepping on the toes of a class that already fills a role. It seems like they didn’t know what to do with the officer so they just gave it a little bit of everything.

I don’t think it would be unreasonable, but not really necessary for the officer to be able to call down an autonomous probe droid to support a full sized squad not just him and one other guy.

Its not a bad idea really. However what would the rebel officer have?

Give them a protocol droid to distract and irritate them with BS long enough for the Stormtroopers to kill them.

The reason the officer has the mounted gun (eweb) is because we didnt want hundreds on the battlefield all at once. You can only have so many officers on the field at once so he gets it.

Like rebo says, you arent gonna survive for more then a couple seconds on a turret in combat, its a bullet magnet, you'd have to place it in an extremely good position, where it will most likely fall into a wall with the guy on it (or have they fixed this)  Its just that the officers really dont have a good way to earn points, sure bacta and resupply is all good, but i think they should have SOMETHING capable of killing besides turrets and their pistols

They are bullet magnets cos they can be the most devastating weapon on the battlefield. Especially if your squad is supporting you with generators and shields. In which case you will survive for a long long time, unless you get flanked or if the enemy has a few medics chuckin multiple biotic/sonic nades at you.

Re: Officer with probe droid

do biotic nades kill you even if you're behind a shield?

Re: Officer with probe droid

that was the intention of the medic's grenades!!!

I have no problem with trying to limit its use, but isn't there other ways of doing that? Isn't there a way to make the eweb only deployable in a squad of 3 or more people regardless of what class or role has it? Something similar could be done with the UAV of the Trooper class and the shield. Can’t some of these devices be made squad dependant to use.

Maybe if the weapon was more squad dependant and everyone in the squad benefited point wise from its use it would help foster that scenario.

Re: Officer with probe droid

i dont think there are many places to use the mounted gun it the current maps.
