Battlefield 2142 settings:
Graphic settings: Everything as high as possible, 4xAA.
Sound settings: high, Hardware.

Setting sound on hardware the game freezing wen AT r shotting and on space maps wen some ship shotting, i think its Y-Wing.

Setting sound on XFI solves on ground maps problem (AT) but on space maps some times it stutters on massive action (high numbers of Y-wings).

Setting sound on software solve all Freezing and stutters problems.

Freezing and stutters problems never appears on BF2142.

Aye, at least the high/hardware combo appear to be confirmed to cause AT-ST freeze (might affect ultra high too, but its somewhere around there).

So if people freeze on ground maps with looping AT sound: SET SOUND TO SOFTWARE OR MEDIUM!!!

Oh and btw: Anyone who says freezing doesnt occur on BF2142 hasnt played beta 1. Oh dear it was bad. My rounds lasted an average of 1 minute :S

i used to freeze so often in bf2142 that i had written down/memorized the key presses that would allow me to shut down the 2142 process ('cause it wouldn't show the task manager over the 2142 "window"

P.S im not getting any Audio loops(yet) just freeze and total lockup.

Ok thanks to all the people who have replied so far, I see lots of people are using Hardware sound and get problems, please bear playing on software medium sound settings for some time and see if it crashes, then report back.

Sound on Software and medium (or any other Option), no Effect.
