I hope not to see any X-wings and ties on the map, I never liked the Hoth map on GC becuse of ties flying around hunting snowspeeders and then a falcon and a x-wing in the mix... It become to much dogfighting to feel like you was in the same battle as in the film.
No it should be more that the imps are this huge juggernut with their AT-AT and AT-ST that will try to reach the trenches and bases to send in the infantry and that the rebels will have to stop using fixed defences and snowspeeders and in the end blasters and knives (hehe).

Luke: "The armor is too thick for blasters, switch to towcables!!!"

But don't think the engine can handle towcables big_smile

So it's not completely the same battle as in the movie tongue

Re: Hoth map vehicles

I dont know if TIEs should be in the map.  Xwings maybe, but only after the imperials are taking over. then rebels can use them for escape.

Re: Hoth map vehicles

well ain't it obvious that the Rebels are gonna get pretty raped in the snow but when the Imp's invade echo base i'll just mow em down???      might even bring a chainsaw!!

No, I don't see it as obvious that the developers would make such an unbalanced map. Next question?

I agree with the 'no X-Wings or TIE Fighters' part, though. Thanks, Bandu.

Re: Hoth map vehicles

I got an idea for a way to at least mimic the tow cables.  In one of the Battle Field 2 Booster packs, one of the weapons was a zip line. You shoot a line out at a wall, and then you can zip down it. You could fire it from ANY location onto ANY surface. However the line was stationary.  Why not do something similar on the speeder, but just make is so that from the point of impact on the walker's leg, a invisible area zone is created (like if you were to throw down a sticky scanning device.).  And the speeder MUST stay within this invisible zone for the entire time of a count down. The only way for them to stay in the zone would be to fly in circles around the feet, mimicing the action of tieing them.  After the timer hits 0, a sound or something would let the driver know, and the AT-AT will be cued to come tumbling down.

thats good idea but how do you stop them pwning the at-ats. maybe only have one tow cable each. are there two people in the snow speeder
