Topic: Share your teamwork stories

Today on the fleet battle map I ended up in the captain's seat of a Gallofree, with her and a corvette being the only two ships left on the map. I headed for the corvette and after much messing about managed to get my sluggish old tuna fish positioned near her. Just then I heard a message from an 'Ironclad', captain of the corvette, telling me to position myself at her starboard side. I do, and rotate to the right, which he also tells me to do. We proceed to take out an enemy ship the corvette is in a firefight with, leaving only the Lancer for the Imperials.

I'm then told to get behind the corvette and above her, which I do, to repair her while she makes an attack from above on the Lancer. I do so, but apparently her captain doesn't realize that I'm lagging behind (the gallofree is a slow bugger) and outruns me. Soon after this, after she engages the lancer and a swarm of TIEs join the fray, she's destroyed. At this point, I get company from two other people and find myself in a turret, easily swatting three TIEs that'd gotten a bit too comfortable near my 'harmless' ship with no gunners. Still, we eventually succumb to the wrath of the Lancers and TIEs. Defeat for the Alliance.

Still, it was fun while it lasted. Ironclad also tried to rally the team's B-Wings, ordering them to form up and attack the Lancer in unison. Don't know how successful they were.

Hey Safekeeper!

Ironclad was I. it was probably =CT= JaFaR-Ironclad in the game. I was General Jafar back in Galactic Conquest. Good times. And good work today. I don't think I got the B-wings together though.

I won't be back on to First Strike until Friday evening. My college laptop can't run BF2142, so I have to be home to play. A shame, it's quite the lot of fun.

Remind me to go slower next time smile

Re: Share your teamwork stories

If I was there I woulda joined the B-Wings, heh heh.

I've seen a lot of teamwork, but it tends to not be any particular event. Hopping in a Y-Wing with a gunner that's really good is really fun, and so is playing with a good quad.

Next time toss me a rope and tow me. Why don't corvettes have tow cables?

My Story:

Few days back I get ready to boot up FS, but wait I have Xfire! And a clan! So I decide to message them and invite them ingame, good decision one was made. Then we all get on TS, good decision two was made.

Loading up TME we all decide to go Imperial. The map was at a standoff as far as I could tell. Most our team was at Gardulla's Palace, me and my ASF squad went on the offensive to capture Jabba's townhouse.  We took the fortress with ease and I led them up the main tower with the balcony and ladder. My squad was made up of one of each class so we had everything we needed for the ultimate fighting force.

On the defensive I instructed one of my guys to put down a shield behind my MKII gun. Then another put down his generator. Then medic tossed out his Bacta I tossed out my ammo and Bacta as well. Then the support guy manned the turret I kept up with long range scans the assault player deployed homing beacons and scanning droid and all droid were out, except R5 kept falling off the buildings so we didn't bother with him.

Then the attack came. It was an absolute slaughter, the other team was running into a wall of constant reinforced blaster fire, with SQD beacon, medic reviving, Bacta healing and all their grenades bounding off our shield, their medic nades were ineffective because we were too far away and too high up. We held that CP for the entire round and it was absolutely epic, I only wish I had a screenshot, but I forgot because hte fighting was so intense even though we maybe only died 1-2 times each after we had set up that fortification.

Best round of FS EVER.

Re: Share your teamwork stories

If you aren't seeing teamwork, you aren't in my squad. A few of you can probably attest to the how much of a Commissar I act in regards to making sure my squad (aptly named Teamwork), follows my orders as close as possible.

I've had many GREAT experiences with those who actually work with me (Lance and someone else I know around here), and I can't count them all.  I've had them in space and on the ground. Whether in a tie fighter or marching across Espa to get to Jabba's.

I think my most memorable was a battle in Endor where after fierce fighting, my squad of stormies and I had been pushed back to the fork of Outpost and Speed Wreck. Ordering my squad up into the outpost, we were rather bored as all six of us stood around, one of our speeders running a patrol as our AT-ST sort of wandered around.
A few stragglers came by, but the AT-ST took quick work of them.
After awhile, however, the speeder wreck had been taken and we found ourselves at the front of a massive wave of Rebels headed our way. As they pushed against our south exit, I ordered the AT-ST to give a hand and told the trooper on the bike to get off and help us.
The battle quickly turned into a fight on the walls as we tried to keep the rebels from pushing around us. When they started entering from the West, I had our AT-ST move in that direction to help out the non-squad stormies that had taken up guard there. Several times the non-squadies by the east entrance would be pushed back, and my squad on the wall would turn our guards towards it in order to keep them back before looking back to the South exit.
They began to swarm over the walls and the stormies were being pushed back further. I ordered my squad off the wall and we made a mad dash back towards the capture point as the AT-ST was finally taken down. Of course, a squad doesn't last long against grenades in that small point. But it really felt very siege like.

The battle ended with a well tried defensive around the bunker, but unfortunetely, we lost the game.

Comon men. There's a whole bunch of them right at the top of that hill waiting for you to shoot at them. So forward and up boys! Let's get this done.
