But it seems that th normal rules don't apply to the fighters. I admit I haven't tried everything yet, it should just be a simple invert selection, but I don't want all my controls messed up just so I can play space maps, or not until Dnamro can get all of the components of the map working.

I may lead a double life full of secrets and deception, but that's no reason to be suspicious.

Mini MoD is good played last night.

Haven't played with the main hotfix to First Strike yet.

Issues, (from last night):

1. On the map Taloraan cannot fly any ships, controls do not work. Control settings are there however do not function.

2. Bots are way too easy on some maps and hard on others.

3. Need the Battle For Endor map

Updates:

- Implements most of the handweapon changes from the 1.1 FS patch.  Patch fixed grenades CTD in sp.
- Except for the deployer droids, all the other weapons are enabled in the kits.
- Replaces AA guns with automated mini_turbo_lasers in BF2142 maps to stop a CTD issue.
- Kits can now be customized just like FS mod kits.
- Heavy weapon kits have deployable eweb/MKII replacing pistol for Imp and reb.
- Xwing and Awing bots now fire primary laser weapons (Thanks to Satnav)
- Improved handweapon AI.  Bots will not rush up anymore, but try to stay at a distance, unless they are allready at close combat range.
- Encounter a MoS E map:  bot pathing updated to avoid bots running through fires.
- Road texture issue fixed in BF2142 maps (Thanks to antilibogman)
- Secondary vehicle weapon positions are now set up to fire automatically when it has a pilot (ATST, Mespeeder, Hover tank)
- Verdun has an xwing and a Tie spawn for testing AI.

Oustanding issues/to do list
- Fix AI issues with deployer droids and enable in kits.
- Fix up AI in turret weapons to implement in space maps.
- Track down statics that cause CTD in Endor and Tattoine Mos E. maps in single player
- Enable bots ability to use deployable weapons.
- Fix up AI in capital ships to implement in space maps.
- Fix up Escape from Hoth, so Imp bots have ties they can use outside of the ISD hanger, since they will not be able to successfully launch from hanger.
- Fix Ywing gunner so bots and autocontroller will fire weapon.
- Find a workaround for the issue with bots trying to make the speederbikes reverse.

Changes from previous version:
- MKII and Eweb will fire automatically
- All BF2142 maps are using First Strike land vehicles now with bots: ATST, Hover Tank, landspeeder and speederbike.
- Spacecraft with working bot suppot: Xwing, Ywing, Bwing, Awing, Tie, Interceptor, Bomber.
- Battle of Taloran with Sp support as a dogfighting map. The bots will fly to the flagless CPs at the center of the map and dogfight. Captial ships can not be spawned into, since they don't have AI yet.
- Belgrade and Fall of Berlin are infantry only maps in 16 player sp gamemode.
- SP kits do not have the officer kit, because sp won't work with 5 kits.

I went through several of the maps in the minimod and changed the class skins to be more appropriate. Snowtroopers and cold weather gear for Rebels on the snow maps. Rebel fleet officer (the brown uniform) on the desert maps along with scout troopers. The variety makes a difference to me and it looks good. I still think the maps with their co-op should have been included in the official FS release.

-People like to practice on singleplayer (look at all the posts saying "Singleplayer doesn't work".
-You know the bots and maps work because they've been around for a while.
-It would have more than doubled the total number of maps for the release, giving people more variety and keeping interest. You could steadily phase out the 2142 maps as you make your own signature ones.
-Great for LAN parties or persons with poor internet connections.


Only "con" according to most people is they're NOT Star Wars enough. woooooo (rolls eyes)

Once the rest of the AI issues are sorted out the plan is to integrate the AI to support First strike maps into a patch.   The 2142 maps will not be included in the main mod since the mod is a total conversion and the team does not want to use the 2142 maps.    The maps would be available as seperate download that can be added to the main mod for coop/sp gameplay only.   That way those that feel that the 2142 maps destroy the immersion experience will be happy and those that think it would be cool to fight rebels vs Stormtroopers in the 2142 maps can have at it.  I don't see a point to spend a lot of time trying to make the 2142 maps look a little more Star Warish, since unless you do a total conversion players won't be happy.   Its far better to convert custom maps or make new maps.   

My main purpose in using the 2142 maps in the First Strike mini-mod was for bot testing.   Coop/sp stooped working in First Strike on 2142 maps when the team started using the officer kit.   The kits are set up at the map level, not at the game mode level.  The mini-mod uses different kits then multiplayer.  I have found a way to have coop/sp gamemodes use different kits, but I don't know yet if it will work on a server and if it will work with online game modes.   Enabling coop/sp in the First Strike mod, even in the 2142 maps would have required delaying the release for a month or two for more testing.



Good suggestion on matching up the skins with 2142 maps.

Escape from Hoth CTDs while loading.  Suez Canal CTDs on Deploy.  The only SW specific maps were Mos Entha and Taloran, plus Escape from Hoth and Boccage which I downloaded.

Are there any fixes for the CTDs or some place where I can find more maps? sad
