Re: Endor game ending

I posted this in another thread: http://www.fsmod.com/fsforums/viewtopic.php?id=6173

As for Endor's Forest Moon map... I think it's great, except for one point. In the movie, the Rebels took the Bunker, but then lost it. I think the Push thing works great... up to a point. As it is, the map either gets bogged down at the central compound, or the Rebels take everything, and waste five minutes searching for the 3 missing snipers -- some of which think they can take back the first flags, somehow. Instead of revamping the whole thing, I'd make the last two CPs re-takable by the Imperials, and possibly add a second CP to the central compound. That'd certainly make the last area the climactic battle which held its own as counterpoint to the fleet battle in orbit...

Today's spelling/grammar tip: There = a (sometimes conceptual) place. "There is my car." or "There is such a thing as magic."  // Their = posessive. "Their meat is full of worms." // They're = contraction of <they are>. "They're crazy!" // "They're trying to put their shoes up there."

Re: Endor game ending

I was having a great time on Endor as a Rebel against a very organized team of Imps placing a Spawn Beacon in the Ewok Tree Village and effectively preventing us from taking it.

Good move to have it be a neutral spawn point, so that, as an Imperial you need a squad/team to establish a stronghold there.

I was quite surprised though that in another game, the Rebels were able to take the Tree Village Command Post withut taking the Scout Camp first.
I think this should somehow be fixed.

I also think that the Capture area around the Imperial outpost is too big.
Right now you´re able to take the post from outside the building.
I´d prefer if the Rebels had to move into the building to capture it.

And agreed, once all the posts are taken the game should end.

This was done on purpose to allow the Rebels to get a better start (along with the neutralizing). But the minimap hasnt updated, so its a secret wink

We tried many ways to do this. The flag was on the upper balcony of the surrounding wall, but nooooo then it was too easy to cap it (and you could do it from the outside). Placed it inside the building, but nooooo then it was too HARD to cap it as the imps set up an impenetrable defense and the map ended right there (think Titan corridor except 8-32 people in one). So the choice was to make it slightly larger than the building so imps needed to hold it both inside and out.
