Havent read all the comments but i agree with those who are saying the following:

Most people bought bf2142 for bf2142 and not for first strike. Having said that... the people that bought play this mod are mainly Fps gamers. Bring them at least 2 GREAT SUPER FANTASTIC fps maps (with xwings included smile) and you got yourself a bigger group of 1st strike players.

I like space maps... but if i could dock a ship and fight in another ship.. that would be great for me as a mainstream 1st person gamefreak.

I agree, w/o GCs ability to board enemy ships space battles are just no fun at all to me.

I would almost prefer the flat 2d space maps that GC had and allow ship boarding then this method.

Or let ship boarding happen and let people walk on the walls/cealings of the ships and slide all around, would be hella fun IMO.


Another big problem with FS is people not knowing what the hell anything does.   Their is no ingame explination for what all the weapons/vehicles can do.   Requiring people to come to the forums to find out what the fire and alt-fire for the transport ships does means that they will 70%+ of the time never find out unless someone tells them in game.

Hell, in the Hoth map still not many people know about the guns on the ISD.

Put one of the pop up voice overs for the first time you get in a ship or switch to a weapon that explains what it does.   That would greatly help the mod out.

I've been playing FS all weekend, and all I can say is that we need more ground maps (obviously). Space is a total snoozer, but that's just personal taste. That said whenever a space map comes out now I find another server with a ground map right away.

Some ground map only servers would be a welcome addition, too.

The Ds have a ground and space only servers, just go find those and they are pretty popular too tongue

I just read that EA officially isnt allowing any SF TO BF2 mods or 2142 to BF2 mods or maps... Maybe a Karkand style map with FS content...?

Of course smile thats what I would want, its possible me thinks, though Im sure you would need alot more statics, Bespin buildings would do nicely, they just arent ready yet sad

Agreed, those really need a hit indicator, and possibly a objective indicator, as they pretty much guarantee a transport's destruction if they're not destroyed.

As for the voice, I still think getting a Obi-wan Kenobi impersonator to do the voice would be awesome. tongue (Or hell, have a contest here on these forums for it)
