Re: FIRST STRIKE WIKI

Hey, sorry I've been out for a few days...Anyway, Great job! Someone fixed up the main page which was bothering me. And good job on the logos and stratagies...I was waiting for someone to put those in. And yes, It is rather annoying, but to properly view the page, you need to have the quartz slate skin selected.

Um...I dont think theres anything else for me to say, Other then Thanks for putting it in the forum bar in that very bright, attention-attracting orange.

Re: FIRST STRIKE WIKI

Good Imperial Tactics Strategy, -=Ct=- JaFaR.  Very nice work.

We still need more editors, I can't always spend time writing strategies.  But, as soon as I have time, I'll be working on Mos Entha 32 and 64 player strategies.

Mos Espa and the Battle of Taloraan still need strategies written for them.

Oh my gosh Tiefighter, nice skin change!

After all that work we did, because Wikia had nothing but ugly non-gaming colors, I'm glad they finally came up with a nice-looking theme. Saves us a lot of trouble, lol. At least I learned more about CSS. smile

Re: FIRST STRIKE WIKI

32-player strategy for Mos Entha is complete.  64-player is on the way.

I may be drastically changing the format for the 16-player version and maybe for Endor as well, so keep a look out for that as well.

Re: FIRST STRIKE WIKI

Just as a little style note, the map strategies should try to stick to the style of the Rebel Strategy for the Battle of Endor map, for instance, and not the style of the Imperial Strategy for the same map.

Re: FIRST STRIKE WIKI

I just went through the Rebel Hoth strategy and did some minor fixes (capitalized Imperial, for example), and I'd like to suggest that it gets a major rewrite. First of all, it recommends keeping the transports apart so that the Imperials have to split up, when the best strategy to my experience is to keep them together. Two fully manned transports flying in tight formation are difficult to destroy - three or more are nearly invincible.

Secondly, the guide talks about using stealth to sneak transports to the beacon, and about how TIE fighters can 'reporting on your position'. This despite the fact that transports are visible on the map at all times to all players and are thus impossible to hide. There's no real benefit from skulking about near the edges of the map, other than to increase the distance they have to travel to get to the Star Destroyer.

Also, I don't think the article should contain so much info on ships. For example, you don't need to describe in detail how the shields of the Gallofree work and how to handle TIEs - this should be described in the Gallofree Transport's own article. For the Hoth article it should be enough to simply write something like 'Remember to use your shields wisely and call for fighter support when a TIE settles down outside of your firing arc'.

And yes, as Canadiens said, strategies should be standardized, following a set template. Start with for example what to do early on in the game, then the middle and end of the game, then common mistakes, then this, then that. Just a suggestion.
