Topic: Test to setup BF2editor in BF2142 without BF2

This is a test installer that will setup the BF2editor in BF2142 for those that don't have BF2.   I tested it on my system and was able to start the bf2editor from within BF2142, but I need someone that does not have BF2 to test it out and let me know if it will work without BF2 installed.

The installer defaults the installation to the default BF2142 installation folder.   This installer gives you a chance to install in another location if you want to.


This installer does not setup BF2142 or FirstStrike for editing with the editor.   I can create special versions of by setup tools if this works to handle that.  This should allow a user that only has BF2142 to install the BF2editor files in there Battlefield 2142 folder and be able to start the editor.

cool! i'm going to test it out, because I don't have BF2.

EDIT: eh... well i installed it but when I want to press the icon it says "which program do you want to use to open it?"

Apparently, my shortcut needs to be fixed.   You can  try to run it directly if you go into your program files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142 folder and double clikc on the bf2editor.

i confirm the shorcut do not work, but when you clikc on the .exe you obtain this:

i creat a new folder " bf2editor " in my BF2142 directory folder and copy this files(they are in the BF2142 folder):
