Topic: Problem with the mod (finding servers and freezing at single player)

Hi im a big fan of star wars and i saw this brillaint mod the other day so i downloaded it and installed it and when i tryed to try single player it loaded up the loading screen and when it had join game it went of the game and crashed and then exited. sad

Why is it always me that has these problems??

And when i tryed multi player i tryed searching for some servers because i just wanted to get playing but then it didnt have 1 server there!!

Im sure iv got the correct version for 2142 as my brother gets games on there but i got first strike and it just dont work or anything!!!

I just want to play and fly some of those beautifal star wars fighters!!!!

Well first of all, make sure you go into advanced section when you look for online games and untick all besides same mod and it should show the servers, and the single player map doesnt work.

Yes thats right you are the 21st person (that I found in a brief search) who hasn't tried reading the FAQ in the manual and decided to create a topic asking the same question, when using the search button yeilded 20 results.

And another thing i reckon if i do that the servers will come up but then when it loads it will freeze and then exit the program. (thats what might happen with my luck)

And thanks for the help and hopefully in a hour it will work smile

And sorry im at college so i didnt have time to check out the others as the tutor is constantly wandering around looking at what we are doing.

Its not completely his fault the site is not user friendly at all. should be instructions on the front page in big letterd

Yes, it's apparent someone didn't read the manual. Or any of the FAQs pinned at this forum.

You'll notice that there is no Single-Player availability, because it's still being made and wasn't included in the FirstStrike release. Don't try it.

It'll also say that in Multiplayer, you need to go to the Advanced tab, and uncheck all the filter-boxes at the bottom EXCEPT for "Same Mod". Hit Update List, and you'll get dozens of servers appearing.
