It was admittedly good in places, no question about it, but I don't like their approach to vehicles. And other things.

Empire at war is very good, not the best but better than many other sw games.

I have to say I did enjoy the gameplay of Empire at War, and how you could watch the battles cinematically.  I just thought some of the ship stuff was a bit wonky, such as the hard points you were able to kill.
