Re: KotOR: MMORPG.

sometimes I wonder about the validity of it all, I mean we have no indication that it's a Kotor game at all, aside from the fact that Bioware is involved. also we have indication that it is NOT an mmo, since Lucasarts said they would not make 2 Star Wars MMOs at the same time, maybe they are finally pulling the plug on the NGE?

I guess since most people on NGE play for Jedi anyhow, might as well make a Kotor Mmo to syphon them off, then make a better, more acurate Galactic Civil War era (Original Trilogy) game with NO playable Jedi at all, a deep underworld/bounty hunter/smuggler portion (preferably with no mention of the Zann Consortium or better yet, an out and out statement as to the fact that it does not exist and never will) an in depth civilian crafter and entertainer proffs, and everything that made precu good and go beyond it. add in the capability for large scale battles, combat vehicles, territorial planetary and interplanetary conquest, Fleets of ships like Corvettes and Tartans all the way up to Star Destroyers and Mon Calamari cruisers broadsiding each other and launching player controlled starfighters and bombers.

and lore wise go by people like Curtis Saxton and Karen Travis, and the makers of the Inside the worlds of Star Wars and other cross section books as a basis (none of that ISD bridge tower globes being shield generator bullcrap, that's barely forgivable in some single player games or games where the ISD has no players on it or related to it, but otherwise you need more acuracy and balance)

make Stormtrooper a feared profession for players to want to go for, a fast track to powerfull abilities at the cost of having to be told what to do, (IE trade freedom for fast power) and have it so when you chose a faction it's almost like chosing dificulty level, where Imperials = Easy mode, Neutrals = Moderate, and Rebels = Hard mode.

it's more likely however that if they do pull the plug on the NGE (and negotiations with SOE cause I think they are still under contract) that the emulator projects would instead become the main point for the Original Trilogy era mmo gaming. swganh and swgprecu are already quite stable and have alot of stuff in them, swgemu is stuck lagging far behind.  the Outer Heaven Project does add the Territorial ground and space combat with almost 30 types of capital ships being added in the game, space zones being enlarged to nearly 3x what they are now to facilitate fleets. brand new starfighter systems and components, capital worlds to keep the War going (namely Byss and Hoth)
combat vehicles, a TacNet similar to the Commander/squad leader's interface from Battlefield 2 and 2142 and First Strike here and tons more.

nothing flashy there, mostly just a think tank  for concepts and to work out balance and features before they are implemented.

Re: KotOR: MMORPG.

i prefer a good old fashioned jedi knight game. None of this upgrading my light sabre and collecting equipment. I want to wield the force like a psychopath on meth lol.  Cant wait for force unleashed

Re: KotOR: MMORPG.

True that! Though I'm more interested in SW:FU  (lol fu...) for the Euphoria and Materials technology behind it. Giving enemies AI controled actions instead of animations offers so many new possibilities.

Though it needs to be in a fighting game smile.
