Re: No factional vehicles, PLEASE!
Be carefull locking vehicles, this involves close range gameplay. In real life controlling a vehicle from another faction only involves learning how to control it, rather than the inability to do so. In BF2142 have lived fun moments capturing and repairing ATs enemies abandoned, for example, blocking vehicles removed from the game fun these situations. The more open the game is more fun to play

Re: No factional vehicles, PLEASE!
I like capturing and repairing AT-STs myself, and the care you have to take when leaving one in enemy territory or no-man's land. Repairing a walker is a risky game. Having said that, I also like it when you're not able to do it, like in Project Reality. Enemy tank parked near you? Either blow it up or let it sit there. In real life controlling a vehicle from another faction only involves learning how to control it, rather than the inability to do so.
But what this means is you can't just hop into a tank and take it for a spin. You don't 'just learn' how to drive a tank or fly a helicopter that's new to you (unless tanks have changed in userfriendliness since WWII, that is). In addition, even if you could just hop into a tank and instantly know how to use it, it'd be a death trap as you don't have FS's neat IFF features in real life. If you as an Iraqi tank hunter saw an Abrams tank roll down the street, you'd not be able to pull out a map and tell from the blue tank icon that the vehicle was on your side - you'd just kill it. No matter how many ways you try to mark the vehicle as friendly - by painting it, flying your nation's flag, and so on - it's very unsafe to drive an enemy vehicle.

Re: No factional vehicles, PLEASE!
I think not be a mistake to say that this is not WWII. About PR is the perfect example of how to totally destroy a mode of the gameplay open with an exaggerated realism and tremendously complicated, resulting in a gameplay the most boring ever seen in BF and with few players due to their complexity and exaggerated realism. The excessive realism has been and is the perdition of PR, a more proper balance in favor of gameplay provide more recognition and players in this mod, but I fear that this impossible because are stuck in a policy wrong. Return to FS this is my opinion: Be careful with realism because a easier gameplay is more fun.

Re: No factional vehicles, PLEASE!
i prefer to have the at-at's as only for imps as they will be a key part of game play. But other things like tanks and at-st's are less important so they should not be locked. i think fighters should be free for anybody because they are pretty well balanced anyway. we should think about gameplay first and reliasm second. this is star wars after all and that is what Lucas arts does.

LOL, your lame, PR has more players that ANY other BF1942, BF2 or BF2142 mod. It also has the LEAST smacktards. End of discussion. Carry on.

Now that I'm a tester, I guess I should point out that my opinions do not necessarily reflect those of the dev team . With that over with...

PR isn't too complicated in the slightest. It could easily be more intuitive, but once you know how to play it (play it windowed with the manual PDF handy, or, better yet, just print the damned thing), it's everything but hard. I downright love and admire what they've done for the game, and how many great solutions they've found for problems in vanilla. I especially like how you can build a limited number of things like sandbags, AA guns, and bunkers on the battlefield and then use them to get limited kits (awesome idea!), and how spawning now revolves around squad leaders, vehicles, and deployed rallying points, rather than control points. The excessive realism has been and is the perdition of PR, a more proper balance in favor of gameplay provide more recognition and players in this mod, but I fear that this impossible because are stuck in a policy wrong.
Yes, the guys behind the realism project, surprise, surprise, has a staunch policy of realism. Who'd have known . Be careful with realism because a easier gameplay is, in my opinion, more fun.
Fixed it for you .

lol, i dont think soo, despite having played a long time PR. The best mod for BF series that I have seen more success has been Forgotten hope for BF1942, in fact there are still many dedicated servers for 64 players and full, and soon will have BF2 version. Returning to BF2, currently Point of existence concentrates more players PR due to a better balance sheet and excellent quality vehicles and weapons. In BF2142, I hope that FS is the best mod, it is now. Sry my bad english, you can tell it means "smacktards" ¿? I do not understand.
