Re: Bring it on! Dev/test vs public saturday 17th 1900GMT (Casablanca)

Was alot of fun. Havent played FS with a decent amount of players in a long time.

These community games(not necessarily devs.vs.public) should be a recurring event every 1 or 2 weeks.

Re: Bring it on! Dev/test vs public saturday 17th 1900GMT (Casablanca)

Is there some way to get an email sent to my account  so I dont' keep missing these?

A newsletter might actually be an idea. But in the meantime, just read the forums smile .

The community game was just awesome. The worst thing was, I didn't even plan to attend. But then the day came and decided that why the Heck not, so I showed up 10 minutes before it started. At that time, there were only a handful of people there, and I really did start to think this would be a big flop, but luckily a lot of people showed up and it was great fun. Only problem was that there was no server admin present for most of the time, and that we as such had a bit of a problem keeping the teams organized. To make matters worse, auto-balance was on, so I kept getting switched to the Rebel side.

I think Endor and the second go at Mos Espa (at this point the server was starting to thin out and the devs were gone), were the best parts for me. Holding that Imperial outpost was so much fun. Getting systematically pwn3d in the space maps was less so tongue .

As a side note, how often do you guys want to have these games? Keeping in mind that the devs have testing and development to take care of in addition to this, I'd say it should be manageable to have a match once every second week. I'm also in favor of letting them have all the testers and developers one on team, except we should do a rotation so that next time, we play Rebels and you play Imperials.

Thanks for a really enjoyable evening.  I'll keep my eyes open for the next time!  Maybe by then there will be some more maps to play with?  It'll be good to play on one that no one is too familiar with?  Anyway, great time had by all from what I could see and shed loads of teamwork! big_smile

We really did have a nice turnup big_smile

Too bad my 2142 kept CTDing around 2245 so I had to stop, but it was great playing again smile

Sorry about the autobalance and no teamswitching, hadn't thought about that beforehand.

Regarding CTDs, it crashed only once for me, the rest of the time it ran pretty smoothly.

Scoreboards at various times of the match, so you can see who attended:

Yes, there were this many people on mid-game.

Last stand at Endor. We kicked butt in round one, but the rebels returned with a vengeance and we were overrun. Here's our last stand, and a possible bug preventing the Empire from retaking the grey flag. Soo close.

Apologize for my poor graphics and yadda, yadda, yadda. Oh, and for the JPG graphics. This'd have taken an eternity to upload otherwise.

Poor setup, to be honest. One grenade would take us all out. But what the Heck, the round was nearly over, with us having secured every control point. Not to mention we had twice as many tickets as the Imperials smile .

Er, devs, may I suggest that we spend the training sessions before the next match practicing space combat? Four losses out of four was... slightly embarrassing wink .
