Topic: 1.4 + first strike = bad

Hey, sorry if there is already something posted that deals with this, i simply lack the ability to find it.

I decided to install 2142 again today, i updated to 1.4, and then installed FS 1.0. When it said that i did not have 1.25 patch installed for 2142, i went to the site and read that i could still play, so i clicked ignore... I then installed the 1.1 Patch... It also said that first strike was not installed correctly, assuming ( I know..... bad thing to do) that it was the same problem, i clicked ignore, and it said that the patch was installed correctly.

So i boot of FS and go to join up, but there are no servers listed, no matter what I do no servers will show up.

Any input to what i need to do will be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

first thing to do is make sure you have clicked on the advanced tab to see the servers.
if that does not work then reinstall 2142, patch to 1.25. then install first strike and patch it if need be. then patch 2142 to 1.40.

When you are on the advanced tab make sure Ranked is unchecked, otherwise you will see nothing.

that was not working, but i was crashing when trying to play SP (and i do have SP mod) so im gonna reinstall anyways, up to 1.25, install FS then up to 1.4

FS should function fine whether you installed it over 1.25 or 1.4, so going through that process is really just a waste of your time.  If you have everything unchecked except for same mod and click update list after installing FS over 1.4, you should see servers.  If you don't, you did not follow the process correctly (Install FS over 2142 1.4, run mod and go to advanced tab, see servers, play)  I have not used the SP mini-mod so I don't know if it may or may not be causing the issues you are having.  I'd suggest re-installing FS without it and seeing if you can find any servers.

he can find that you can continu the installer, but he cantfind the thousands of posts saying there is no SP mode? oh dear

if i see about 10 servers, all empty save one that has one person. Does that just mean no one is playing on a Sunday?
