Topic: Game continues to crash

Well today during the community game my game has crashed at least 3 times

One time it crashed right after I selected join game and it just closed to desktop

Second time it closed to desktop right when I hit join game

Third time it froze the computer when I was shooting a tie bomber in a Nebula B.

this might help you or not but its worth a try

Go to your BF2142 folder, mine is C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142

Locate the file "radial.cdb"

If you do not see this file in the folder then you need to go to folder options tell Windows to show hidden files. You also (or instead) have to uncheck the box just a little bit below it, which is "Hide protected operating system files".
(For some reason this is a protected file and will not show if you ask to show normal hidden files.)


Rename the file to oldradial.cdb (or something similar so you know what it is) and start your game.


The game will create a new radial.cbd file on it's own.

this happened to me and it might help you

EDIT: also clear your cache too tongue

I get the same issue. Whenever I press the "Deploy" button, my game crashes and closes out to the desktop. I have, luckily, yet to have my computer freeze, but I still cannot get the mod to work. I would really love to see it work cuz the mod looks soo pretty. (btw, very good work on the mod guys).

I have tried your suggestion with the radial.cdb file as well as uninstalling FS and reinstalling it, uninstalling everything, then reinstalling BF2142 with 1.25 patch then installing FS, then installing 1.4 patch, but nothing seems to work. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions you may be able to offer.

@mike: you said you reinstalled fs but i cant find a thing about Punkbuster. have you updated that yet and check to see if its not bocked by a firewall ?

Yeah, i have mikes problem. Whenever i hit deploy it quits to desktop. I have the 1.4 patch ad i have changed the apropriate* files and it's still screwy. any help would be aprececiated*.

* this means i have misspelt words on my post.
