Re: Poll, sorta. Voices or Pick-up Kits.

uh, i just wondered about this topic, if you pick up a kit of the enemy in vanilla bf, you still have your voice commands. so for instance if you are EU, kill a PAC guy and pick up his kit, you still have your english commands, so i wondered if all ppl on one team (except for the commander and maybe squadleaders, but im not sure about this one) have the same voice setup no matter what kit they have.

so i wondered if it was possible to bind the (for instance) wookie voices to some kind of commander (though you dont have one) and still have him have his voice after picking up a different kit... (this would allow at least 2 voice setups per team)

Like I said they could code the voices like regular 2142, but all grunts would have the same voice per team and all SLs/Commanders would have the same voices per team. Which I have no problem with personally.

Especially since this unique way of coding only benefits ONE team in the mod, and it doesn't add ANYTHING to the gameplay what-so-ever.

This game needs a reform of gameplay, not stupid visual or sound changes. Look at any other game and you will see the same problemsor strengths.

Sound is one of the most important things in star wars. Star wars is a mixture of all different races and cultures which need to be represented and the gameplay is already different to 2142.

But this is not an easy issue. maybe the mod would be better with it maybe it would be better without. I mean things like the wookies cant even speak properly but cutting them out all together would be crazy.

I don't see it as crazy, I see it more like including Wookiees is copying Battlefront 1-2 which both sucked and were far from fun or accurate.

And you think I don't know Sound is important, umm of course, I know it is but voices of some species are not important at this point where the mod is failing as far as player counts go.

You say it is fun, but what about those other 20000 people who downloaded it, maybe 5% still play it.

I'm all for including them, just not as part of the Alliance army. I'd be more in favor of a map with an all-Wookiee army, perhaps equipped with Alliance weaponry and stolen Imperial equipment (that way the devs wouldn't have to make too much new stuff). But including them as a part of the Alliance army, on all maps, doesn't seem right to me, especially not from a mod that emphasizes how authentic it's going to be.

Look, I really, really do love this mod, and I think it has huge potential, but I also think this step is not a good one to take.
