We had a version of Bestine in testing quite a while ago, I can give you a quick taster of what it looked like in game here. The problem was due to the size it lagged a bit here and there, and that was just with you playing it alone never mind with 60+ other people in there running around. Also the shear size of the thing meant it takes quite a while to get around, this can be addressed by having abundant speeders available to help you get around. But to be quite honest I'd advise you to make the city a touch smaller, not expand it even further. That said, it does look mighty impressive in game, and if you can hone the design of the map so that despite the size, the gameplay and combat is focused (possibly done with key objectives that would focus the battle in certain areas) this could indeed be a great map.

I also noted Ty mentioning that the mountains are too high? I personally liked the mountains as they were, gave you a great view of the city, and gave the invading force a mighty intimidating fortress to try and assault in that cliff face and Turbolaser towers.

Woah...that is great...I would love to be able to use that map and have speeders/T-16 skyhoppers for transportation around...then the imps could have some TIEs and a few walkers...i like it! Maybe the rebels should start on the mountain and have a base there so they can invade with their skyhoppers/speeders. You know, when 1.2 comes out...maybe there could be a freerunner in there. big_smile

I am still yet to pick this beast back up, I will finish it that's for sure but you guys just have no idea how frustrating mapping is. It is really a pain in the azz.

The lag I know how to fix, it is because the view distance was like 1000000000. So when I ton that way down it will be much better. I still want to expand the city a little, which shouldn't cause lag after the view distance is brought way down.

The entire city needs detailing, and I still don't know how to REALLY set up the flags since the layout is very awkward. I never really planned out any of this map, I jsut made it as I went along and that's how it turned out. smile

Regarding the size, it could be split up into several maps, you know. Just make the rest of it out-of-bonds, or cut it altogether. Possibly the best solution. I wish you the best of luck with this either way, it's looking great.
