Ok, i agree that we should have upgrades, but you shouldn't have to be in a squad to earn them. You don't FORCE players to be in squads, you ENCOURAGE them. Let them have upgrades, but have some REALLY COOL upgrades that are squad specific. Off the top of my head...remote mouse droid for scouting. Also, you shouldn't have to replace a weapon you have, just add a new one to like, the "9" key on which there is nothing that i know of. Maybe you could have dogtags, just holographic ones. I think thats pretty cool...besides...whats not to like stabbing someone and seeing their name on a dogtag? (for some reason i just like that...) Anyways...as alreech said, PLEASE hamsters NO JEDI. That really kills the experience. ...my brain hurts

I don't think there should be upgrades/unlocks at all. And I hope they are not/never introduced until the weapons are reworked and rebalanced in every way.

Also dogtags are stupid and they don't fit in with the lore. Storm Troopers and Rebels don't wear the same type of identification, if any that is uniform. So let's just not do it smile

And besides then people start acting like ****ing nillanoobs going for knife kills rather than just palying the game. It's enough that they are including ranking and a KNIFE badge... I don't want dogtags or anything related to them that will just decrease gameplay quality and attract the wrong kind of players.

THAT is what would kill the experience.

Also, would like to point out about the knife thing, soldiers are never rewarded for killing someone with a knife over a gun. You would probably be dishonorably discharged in the real military if you knifed someone you could easily have shot instead of putting them agonizing pain of bleeding to death, or suffocation or however.

ughh... whatever...

More Upgrade ideas:

Deployable Holographic Concealment Package (Trooper item): Throw this holographic disguising system on the ground, and depending on the map you're playing on, the system generates a small mound of blended terrain suited suited for one soldier to hide in. The power unit cannot withstand the energy of any more than 20 shots passing through the visual cover; and if you're using anything but a sniper rifle, the blaster bolts will easily expose your position.

Ion Mine (Heavy Weapons item): Similar to the powerful AT mine used frequently by HWS troopers, the Ion Mine releases a VERY powerful ion blast when detonated by proximity. Capable of rendering a vehicle inoperable for up to 40 seconds, the Ion Mine is a surefire way to put a damper into your enemy's vehicular assaults; place them well, for their package is volatile and will detonate prematurely if detected and fired upon.

Tenloss "Dizzy" Hallucinatory Dart launcher (Medic item): A dart launcher mounted on the user's left wrist, which fires small projectiles with drugs capable of severely impacting a victim's nervous system, rendering them unable to hear, see clearly, sprint, or jump for a short period of time. The bloodstream quickly flushes the drug out of the body... if the victim survives the predicament. Only a few darts are provided in the battlefield.

Merr-Sonn "Smoggy" Smoke Charge (Support item): A specialized remote-detonated charge that releases several smoke grenades upon detonation. The grenade launching spread is decent sized, but if released indoors, it can make vision impossible for anyone inside, setting them up for a grenade attack or flushing them out. Smoggy is also excellent for creating diversions; it can attract enemy soldiers, who advance thinking that your team is there, taking advantage of the cover, when in fact they're being set up for a sniper or grenade tosser.

Maybe replace the dogtag image that pops up with some sort of Star Wars-esque microchip id?  lol j/k My vote is to just leave it out.  Blasting 'em is much more enjoyable. smile
