Are you using Vista?

If so, make sure that BF2142 is running with administrative rights.

ok...i had the same problem..went to punkbuster...right clicked..."save link as" on both the security update and client update...ran the game..went to the server "WOLF" something..16 players on it at the moment...joined server...instant PB kick...

anything else that can help apart from the update?

right click ? save link as? i dont get those things in the punkbuster updater...
also what does your pbcl.log in "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\pb" say

Check out the Video. It will solve your PB issues. I use windows Vista and did exactly what this guy is doing in his video and it worked fine. smile
