Re: Funniest First Strike moments

Today this happened.

Playing on TME with about 20 people.

I was in my squad with Kampher, CAAM and some other noobs...

On the other team was Pam (aka Pamage) and TRA Twigs.

I was along with my squad mates in a fire fight along the road that leads from the ruins to Jabbas house. There was an ATST which had been raping our entire team for the last 10 minutes coming up as well, but it was smoking badly.

I was in the back ally way behind the houses, inbetween the landing docks. I come around the corner with my knife out and see an imperial dead ahead, he starts to open up but I get to him before he can kill me and I knife him in hte road in front of the ATST. Then I pull out my T-10 and blast the ATST until its on fire, there was also another imperial at the legs of the ATST shooting at me while I was ighting up he ATST, I see pam bail out of the fire ball I created and run away down the street. I whip out my knife and pursue her to the corner. The imperial guy turned and follow me but now he whipped out his knife too.

Then Pam turns around and charges me with he knife, we both missed and I turned around to see the other imperial runnong at me. we both missed again as well... But after a couple misses and hits with them both I was still unknifed with about 10-20 HP remaining. I finally landed a fatal blow to the other imperial and see Pamage a few yards away. I tensed up and got ready for a head on charge, jsut before impact I crouch, knife and killed her... Then I proceeded to pick up the controls of the ATST, but unfortunately, Kampher was shooting at it jsut as I entered so it blew up and I died...

Then I said "HAHAHAHA *$%@ers" and Pamage called me a retarded hillbilly XD

lol. I so totally owned them. wink

lol, just want to point out I WASN'Tthe guy knifed in that story! Some good games though, me and Ty had a couple of good run ins, plus a lot of friendly banter tongue

Same server I sniped the same guy about 15 times in a row. He kept returning to the same place on the same hill (from imperial spawn point) for me to hit him in the head. Didnt even think to try looking for a different point or looking to see where the fire was coming from :X

Re: Funniest First Strike moments

I think my favorite moment in FS so far was during testing on TME on an older version where you could glitch the ATST on top of some of the buildings.  I went walking from rooftop to rooftop in the ATST...pure awesomeness.

Yo Safekeeper. Glad I am to hear that you still faithfully attempt to use the mortar suppressively big_smile

And not just me, I've seen a couple of other people use it, too. Good to see people are starting to appreciate the thing smile .

The first time was on Mos Espa. I was in a stolen AT-ST south of the town when I started taking fire from two mortarmen behind deflector shields atop one of the closest sand dunes. They were behind the shields and fired over them, so I had to either retreat into the town (where I'd still take fire as the AT-ST is a tall vehicle and the mortar can fire over buildings anyway) or charge and overrun them. I did the latter, but in doing so put my walker way too close to the Imperials and too far away from my allies, so they blew me up rather easily.

The second time I was playing Mos Entha in a full squad of Imperials, and we were positioned at the southern outskirts of the town, moving west towards the SW corner control point (I don't know the name of it as I almost never play Mos Entha). We came under fire from a mortar position on the other side of the wall, and were forced into cover.

It's strange how when you take mortar fire, you instinctively want to charge the source and destroy it. It's like the fact that there's someone who thinks they can bombard you from a safe spot, without you being able to return fire, is so angering that you just have to get over to them and teach them a lesson big_smile .

Only problem is you can't use it too effectively on Endor, as all the trees get in your way hmm .

Re: Funniest First Strike moments

Was that just yesterday, Safe? I was pwning that round when you joined in. Then I was the imperials and I remember you in a walker coming at our base...I was using the mortar. There was like 3 of us, I might have been the only heavy with mortar though. After you killed me, I spawned with the rocket launcher and chased around by your feet until you started to retreat and that last shot took you out...:)

I cant get on xfire.com right now for some reason, but I'll post those 2 round scores later

Re: Funniest First Strike moments

Yesterday I was playing the 16 player version (finally servers are hosting them big_smile ) of Escape From Hoth, and I got in a TIE Fighter and headed for the guns. Once there, I picked up several incoming Rebel fighters, two of which turned out to be Y-Wings. I got behind them as they made their attack runs, opened fire... and watched as they slaughtered the guns. I took both of them down as they didn't have gunners and focused on the guns instead of evading, but not until they'd distributed their torpedoes over the four guns, with the help of an X-Wing that obligingly joined in, and blown all four of them up. The X-Wing then killed me, and the two Gallofrees made their successful dash for the bouy as my teammates filled the comm channel with messages to the likes of 'What the Hell happened to our guns?!'.

The match was over in what felt like less than 60 seconds of game time. Remember, people, guard those guns!

Hehe, this Guy Who Shall Remain Nameless who ran the Gallofree right past the guns because he thought they wouldn't hit him was pretty awesome, too smile .
