Heh, I was playing Escape From Hoth today, and I spawned in the captain's seat of a transport with both turrets manned. The transport had just reached the ISD, and its top shields were almost completely drained. Its bottom shields, however, had hardly been used at all, so I maneuvered so that the ship was flying upside-down just over the surface of the Star Destroyer, so that the top side of the transport couldn't be easily hit by weapons fire. To make things harder for the TIE Bombers, I went really close to the star destroyer's surface. I flew so close that I was sure I was going to smash the transport's bridge against one of the armour plates on the hull, and I almost overshot the bouy since it was hard to pull up. But I made it into hyperspace, so all ended well
.
Funniest thing was I had no free hand/finger to hold the mouse button to activate the bottom shields, since I had my hands full with rudder and arrow keys maneuvering... so the effort was wasted anyhow (sure, I could have pressed and held the primary mouse button with my left foot, but doing so makes me feel slightly silly. I gotta remap those damned keys so I can use the keyboard with one hand... or I need to get that joystick working
) . Oh well. It was a nice maneuver and I'm proud of having performed it
. Pity the server didn't have BR.
Pulling up, or down, depending, from the ISD to reach the bouy (this is on my way off of the surface. I was far closer than this):
