Topic: What is the patching sequence?

Once upon a time I installed and ran FS 1.0 and all was good. Then when 1.1 came, I tried installing and things didnt work out. My friend said I'd have to re-install and patch everything, and that's when I gave up and just played other games. Yes I know, I can be impatient sometimes.

Anyways, I would like to attempt this aggain. And I have been trying for the past umm couple of hours at least.

So I installed BF2142, patched to 1.25, then instlaled FS 1.0 and then patched it to 1.1.

It says on the website that 1.25 is required.

Then I saw there is a 1.11 hotfix, whatever it is, do I need that?

I can now see like 5 servers when I dont click "same version". When I click same version I dont see any I think..or maybe 2 servers.

Anyways, what is the patch installation sequence?

is what I've done (BF patched to 1.25, then FS 1.0 installed, then FS patched to 1.1) is that gonna allow me to see the most servers?

First of all, welcome back!  Don't give up this time, you'll really be missing out.

UNfortunately, the devs have been so busy modding that they still haven't gotten around to adjusting the manual yet.  You may want to refer to the Wiki for any troubleshooting issues from here on it. (and here on the forums, of course).

You will need to patch 2142 up to 1.40.
Once you do that, it should work.

On a new install (which I just did, btw)  the sequence is:
Install BF2142> Patch up to 1.40>Install FS 1.0>Patch FS 1.1

Or I believe if you downloaded the full 1.1 version, then it would simply be:

Install BF2142> Patch up to 1.40>Install FS 1.1>

You need only 1.40. Then Re-Install And Patchin.

Oh, and when installing FS 1.0 and 1.11, it'll tell you that you need 1.25. Just hit 'ignore' and it'll install anyway.

Oh, and cut him some slack, Finnish is incredibly... alien and translating it to English has to be a chore wink .
