Re: Bad Players

Thx TY for cleaning up the thread.

Anyways...my argument stands that there are also SMART players that play the mod, not just annoying jerks who play to simply burden their team and do stupid things to kill the gameplay.

In my opinion, nobody would be stupid enough to do something such as lone wolf repetitively when he knows it will get him killed over and over and over. The only person who does such a thing is someone who is trying to intentionally hurt his team's tickets, and should be kicked for hurting the experience.

To put it simply, nobody is simply going to jump into a bottomless pit repetitively unless he wants to hurt his team, in which case he should be kicked.

Re: Bad Players

It's never the same.  Sometimes teamwork is successful, sometimes going solo works also (though not as often, for other people anyways).  There are many factors to decide what works.  Now, if you keep doing something that doesn't work, then you're obviously a bad player, and possibly you should be kicked.  But again, there are factors.

Personally, for most games, if my team seems capable of holding their own, I will decide to lonewolf (successfully).   Although I cannot for FS, because FS currently only seems to support teamplay, so I'm pretty much forced into a squad (not criticizing).

Re: Bad Players

Same. Usually, i just do what i consider will be the most successful.
"Take this base, well, they're gonna be either defending the base in front, or try to take it back."
"Well, they took that base, so I'll go out on my own and scout out the road to see if they're coming."

It all depends on whats going on and what would work the best at the moment, it's not always the exact same thing. Lone wolfing isn't inevitably a failing tactic, sometimes it works better than teamplay, sometimes it doesn't. It really depends on how it's going, what might happen next, what you can do in the battle by doing this or that. Usually, it depends on the player. If you have a cunning/skilled player lone wolfing, he will have a better chance of success, if you have an arrogant noob lone wolfing then, well, you're screwed.

How naive of you. Every server has a guy who seems to want nothing more than to stay as far from teamates as possible.

Now, this I agree with. Once, for example, my team was spawning at the City House and taking back the Palace Ruins, and I went mortar and climbed to the top of the tower overlooking the City House, and bombarded the Palace Ruins from there (being very careful to constantly monitor the minimap so that I knew my fire mission wouldn't hurt hostiles). Maybe I succeeded in suppressing the Imperials enough to make the job a little easier for my teammates, maybe not, but I'd say it was worthwhile.

Yeah, I second that. Like the team could create a diversion, while one person travel
behind the enemies position. But then again maybe one person not enough for the job,
maybe 2 or 3. Its tactics like these that makes FS a little bit more interesting.

Re: Bad Players

I just realized it's a bit of a bad example anyhow, as spotting, sniping or firing your mortar at the enemy while your team advances isn't strictly lone-wolfing as such, as you're working with and keeping in touch with your team. Oh well.
