Topic: Thanks for two great rounds

Just played two great rounds as Rebel squad leader on Mos Espa. The round had about 6-8 people on each team, and the Rebel team was split into two squads, with Squad 1 (me, Aegan and Talon, who all fought great) protecting the Slave Quarters and the east side of the city, and Squad 1 (my team) handling the Junkyard and Market. In the first round, both squads got pushed back to the Palace Ruins several times - once the Imperials even neutralized the City House -  but managed to push the enemy back into the desert both times smile . Playing with a three-man team gave me a MKII Repeating Blaster and a handheld sensor, both of which proved incredibly useful. We won by 29 tickets.

In the second round, however, we got pushed back to the Palace Ruins and the enemy had enough momentum to actually fight a prolonged battle over it. The second unit dissolved into mine, and I placed a spawn beacon and joined my comrades in valiantly holding the Palace Ruins. In the end, though, the Imperials managed to drive us back to our beacon (lesson learned - don't place beacon too close to action smile ) and we found ourselves pushed back to the Commercial District, as the enemy captured the City House before we could break out from the Palace Ruins. We had a huge ticket lead and I was 100% sure we were going to win, but the enemy managed to bleed us down, and they won with about 30 tickets left even though they took huge losses to our MKII Repeating Blasters and Combat Speeders, and even though a few brave men made attempts at sneaking around to their control points and capturing them. They won by 26 tickets.

Either way, nice round!

Another lesson learned was that MKII blasters deployed by Officers apparently don't go away unless you place a new one, so that if the enemy doesn't destroy enemy blasters they come across (and as such it's highly recommended that they do wink ), you can come back to them and use them later.

Pity RogueTribe doesn't have BattleRecorder. I'd have loved to have at least that scene where I come running into the Ruins with my stolen walker and all these things rock the place, sending two or three different stormies flying litterally three or four stories up from two or three different explosions big_smile . And then my walker blew up and showered the place with shrapnel. Was a thing to see.

Re: Thanks for two great rounds

You're not much of a killer, are you?

Sadly, I won't be able to play much this week, if at all.  Numerous school projects.  Would have loved to have been in those battles.

Re: Thanks for two great rounds

Its tough to lead and kill.

I swing between the two extremes- the responsible leader who spawns officer and proceeds to support his squad and team, even if he dies in the process...

Or the gung ho guy who goes trooper and charges into the fray blasting, hoping that someone will spawn and back me up before my killing spree runs out and i get wasted...

From Safekeeper's phenomenal support score, i'm going to guess he tends towards the former.

Re: Thanks for two great rounds

I wasn't in the next round on Mos Entha where you were 43/13.

Damnit, I always take action screenshots one second too late.

I missed one great explosion...

...and one stormtrooper flung quite a bit higher than this (he's on his way back down in this image):
