Topic: UK just hit by an earthquake?

About 15mins ago my house started shaking like mad. I could literrally see the floor move..not just up and down, but side to side.

Lying in bed I nearly squeezey pooh my pants when my bed started shaking.I noticed my glass of orange , on the table, start shaking ... then the table and then the floor(at which point i sighed a sigh of relief - it probably isnt a ghost!) and then my house went crazy for about 10 seconds.

Strange.

Yea dude... I lived it California we had Earthquakes like that like once every 2 years or so.

We just don't get that many over here, and not as severe as this one, I think pretty much everyone in the country felt it. Poor Bandu messaged me last night to check he wasn't going crazy.

Apparently it was the worst one we 'd had in over 25 years measuring 5.3, and its epicentre was in Lincolnshire, so it must have felt a lot worse for those guys down south.

It's rare here in the UK, as are tornado's (the wind things, not the aircraft) so they get a lot of press. Plus, being so small an area pretty much most of the country gets to feel it in some small way.
