Had that once with BFV, started to panic but turned out to be the graphics card driver. If you haven't just updated your driver and the problem has just started looks like your graphics cards about to die sad
Try running 3D mark (2003/2001 if your systems old) see what comes back

I have updated the driver but i still happens from time to time.

What card you running Nvidia or Ati ( Ati cards you gotta be sure you completely uninstall the old driver before you install the new one or you may get conflicts)
