And got some useful data for Battle of Ryloth and future maps that incorporate atmospheric air combat. Here are some approximate distances for how far you travel when you go from full throttle (no boost) to full reverse (hovering) before you actually stop flying forward and start going upward. This data assumes level flight and that the craft is traveling at its top non-boost speed before 'S' or reverse throttle is hit fully.
Airspeeder: 120-140 meters
Y-wing: 180-200 meters
TIE Fighter: 190-210 meters
TIE Bomber: 140-160 meters
Lambda Shuttle: 160-180 meters
This should help people looking for a landing distance reference when they're going for their respective hangars or landing pads. Or lambda pilots when they're going to land to disembark troops.
I've also found that even if you dive as opposed to flying level when you cut throttle and go full reverse, the distances above don't change all that much. I apply this when landing the shuttle at a CP, in order to cut down on hover meandering (that time you spend trying to hover down slowly on your landing zone, during which time you're HORRIBLY vulnerable).
Also be very conservative for your pre-landing altitude when you're landing in a TIE fighter. These ships REALLY like to tip over and the hovering handling is a bit clunky.
