Topic: Apologies from BlackIntel

I'd like to apologise to everyone yesterday that was expecting the Community Game to be hosted on the DS Server last night.  BlackIntel got populated early, and I was going to shut it down but got permission from the new CG admins to keep our server up and have everyone play there.  I hadn't a rotation prepared, the next map was chosen shortly before the end of the previous one for most the night.  Battle Recorder Wasn't on, I'm afraid, anyone who has screenshots of the action, I wouldn't mind seeing it from someone elses viewpoint tongue

I would, however, like to thank everyone for taking part in our (BlackIntels) experiment. You may have noticed some 16p maps when we had 40 people playing, we wanted to test the intensity of so many players in a map designed for smaller numbers and it was very successful.  There were alot of comments on the "awesomeness" of the games, perhaps we should see about decreasing the mapsize in First Strike tongue

In the future, we'll be using this server for some more experiments, to see how well potential ideas work when implemented ingame.  Possibly implementing a "Forced Squad" week, testing out each of the different maps on smaller player counts (this time with increased tickets), doubling friendly fire (For splash damage only) to see how it effects Short Range Mortar Nubs, and make people less willing to run into ally grenades.

Again, BlackIntel extends both our apologies for those expecting the game on DS server, and our thanks for those who showed.  Nice games wink

Re: Apologies from BlackIntel

Speaking for myself, I really enjoyed those games last night, some good squad play going on and while some may disagree, the teams seemed very balance. If one was able to get a good defensive perimeter setup it was extremely difficult to break through.

My only complaint is that the numbers didnt translate well to the space maps. Non flyers probably liked that those maps didn't last long, for me though it just didnt work. Objective maps (ie convoy raid) were over far too quickly.

epic game yesterday ?
Dam,  we had a war sad and i had no time for FS. But the ideas for the experiments seems to be interesting.

first class game's all night, had a ping of 300 one time but it made no difference to the game. Yep as Twigs said space map's over to quick , but the server did well; with a good crowd on..

Could we get a shorter version of Endor Strike Team? One of the best maps...
