Re: Why I'm Uninstalling
When I first downloaded this mod with the first version, I shared your opinion on space because when your not experienced at it it gets very frustrating. Flying to the battle and then dieing in 2 seconds. But, now I love it. It just takes some time to get better and you can have a real blast. Also if flying is not really for you, crew the capital ships/transports! You can have a great time sitting in a turrent blasting TIE bombers, I was on Escape from Hoth last night and racked up 20 odd kills just sitting in the turret in one of the Gallofrees, lol. You don't seem to have given the mod much of a chance. Go play some more However, I agree completely with your criticism of the anti-armour.... Definately needs to be more powerful IMO, at the moment rockets are just at worst an annoyance to armour pilots. Maybe get rid of withering fire and just really bump up the damage of anti-armour? I dunno. Or, at least make vehicles take alot more damage if hit in the rear... I was pounding a T-1B right in the back with the anti-armour kit and it was still doing hardly any damage. Maybe keep the damage the same, but if hit in the rear (AT-STs in the back of the 'head') it does alot more damage and you can take them out in maybe 3 shots from full health. Would add more tactics aswell (which is never a bad thing), armour pilots would have to be careful not to expose the rear of their vehicle to the enemy (just like real life tank crewers). Just my two cents

Which weapon were you using? The rifle, mortar or rocket? If it was a rifle then it will deplete slowly, if it was rockets then you got to keep plugging away, preferably with another couple people. The game is designed for squad play, if one person can take down a tank with just a couple shots then there is no reason to have armour, all you'd have to do is sit on a hill top and blast from above. The real game mechanic, as has been said time and agin, is teamplay. Make a squad and all go heavy weapons with the rockets (with one med, an officer with spawn beacon and make sure he drops ammo crate), now sit on a hill top, deploy shields and rocket attack tanks from above. Seriously. One squad doing that can wreak havoc on a tank column very quickly. You can also add to that by arty spotting to bring down more fire. It's for this reason that I would advocate bringing commander back just to centralise squads, but then of course you need people to create squads and fire teams in the first place Only people that nee to go lonewolf are snipers and even they can call in arty.

Aye. People need to stick together and all fire on the vehicle. Woody's withering fire is great, even if I hate to admit it. People just need to stick together - squads need to double up and stick together. The game rewards teamplay and co-operation.

Re: Why I'm Uninstalling
Im a pilot and a flight simmer , And Based on scaling and timing. what these guys have done to 2142 is fantastic. So its not the light speed quick reacting experience youd expect from a live starfighter, but in that same spirit do you think MS flight sim-X or any of that other mainstream garbage is realistic ? LOL ! If you arent flying Lock-on flaming cliffs or Lomac , yer just a video game player anyway !! so hop in a tie fighter and grow some balls ! woot These guys did a respectfull job of making the map area larger than what the game designers envisioned. They turned a dodge into a mercedes, so give them slack on the "realism" bs ... its brilliant actually.

True, good point. I'll have to try that. The only thing is alot people aren't very co-operative in squads. I was a SL last night, one guy asked me for orders so I give them... and he completely ignored them and went to the other side of the map. But theres always the kick function... I'll have to try the anti-armour squad you suggested. BTW it was with the rocket.

Wait till you play a no-respawn match with us ... team work is paramount , and medics are gods.

Re: Why I'm Uninstalling
I was disappointed with space at first, too. It is a bit hard to get into, and it is lackluster at first. But once you get into it, it rocks. And as others have said, tanks are very balanced, they just happen to need two drastically different tactics. As for kits, they are something more people than you have complained about. It's still a very fun mod, but weapons need rebalancing. Hopefully they'll be in the end . However, I agree completely with your criticism of the anti-armour.... Definately needs to be more powerful IMO, at the moment rockets are just at worst an annoyance to armour pilots.
No. FS is a teamwork game. It's just like how one X-Wing takes an eternity to blow up a Carrack Cruiser or deflection tower, while a whole squadron of them tears them to pieces. Or how one player can't easily beat a E-Web with a generator, bacta canisters and shield dome (unless you are a medic, perhaps), but a whole squad, using flanking tactics, can take it down relatively easily. You can't blow up cap ships alone, you can't get a gallofree into hyperspace alone, you can't destroy a tank alone. Form a team. PS:
I'm not sure if its because the fans of the space part has never played a real flightsim or what... but its lacking most of the main parts of a flightsim.
We testers and developers have lots of grand ideas that'll make space far, far deeper than it is today. Some or most of them will be implemented over time. Space is rather shallow at the moment, but I feel it's still fun, and if you give us time, it'll be pure gold.
