Re: Need some serious help!!!

I didn't notice if you tried to start the Mod through the Community page ingame.  If not, you might as well give it a try.

If it works,  then you'll know for sure the problem is somewhere in the shortcut. The BF2 launcher deal is unusual, haven't seen that one before...

Re: Need some serious help!!!

I just launched it using the community option in BF2142. Still crashes just like before...

Ok, here's something interesting. The game also crashes whenever I go into options and click on audio. I don't know if that info will help you guys to know what is wrong...

Re: Need some serious help!!!

Hm, try to set Audio on lowest level (Software), if it don't work with the ingame Options edit your Audio.con.
(CTD because Hardware Audio Acceleration is not uncommon, some games - like Starlacer - are plagued with this problem)

Do you use a dedicate Soundcard (like the Creative X-Fi ?) or Onboard-Sound ?
If setting the Sound to Software works, use a newer driver to get the Hardware Sound working (some times part of the mainboard drivers ).

Also be sure what your VOIP Option is off. Some routers don't like the traffic from the BF 2 / BF 2142 VOIP and cut the connetion.
But usually this leads to "There is a problem with your connection", not a CTD.

It would really be strange if you can get to the audio settings in Vanilla without crashing, but yes that would definitely be narrowing things down.

Re: Need some serious help!!!

That's what I'm thinking. It's an onboard Realtek High Definition Audio 5.1 surround sound card. I downloaded the most recent drivers. I'll probably try editing that audio.con and seeing what happens. I also just figured out that it does crash when I click on sound in Vanilla. So something is wrong. Does anyone know where that audio.con file is located in the BF2142 folder?

Re: Need some serious help!!!

it might be located somewhere in My Documents\bf2142\

Re: Need some serious help!!!

My Documents\bf2142\Profiles\000x\Audio.con

000x = There are up to 4 folders, named 0001, 0002, 0003, 0004. One for each soldier you had created.

Audio.con is a .txt file, you can open & save it with the editor. (This applies to all .con files)
